What's the reasonable cutoff price for a Navi? Dealership near me has one, would end up at $2850 out the door since I don't pay taxes here. Seems a bit steep since Honda lists it as $2107 after freight and destination charges.

It's a little high, but not awful. They're definitely adding a few hundred in markup somewhere. With tax, title, rear rack, I was about $2450OTD with no other markups aside from the $300 Honda adds on. I've heard people say anything under $3000 is buy it territory.

Wife had her first bike drop today haha handled it like a champ!

Also her first day hitting busy main roads instead of calmer back roads. She’s a natural and learning quickly but we’re still emphasizing safety safety safety first every single ride!

    Ride safe, all :)

Nope, it’s just the 300 for her first beginner bike. My 650 was a little tall for her.

Her plan is an 1100 (manual) after a season or two though!

I’ve ridden the manual and DCT there pretty fun. Felt like a Grom 1100 to me haha

Hey, for a small fee we can arrange the same upgrade to anyone’s ride here. Just let me know!

Well I have seen lots of pictures of Africa Twins in here lately, enough so I went ahead to my local dealers today to try and get a look at one. One dealer had a 2021 DCT base model, the other had a 2017 Manual. Impressed with the bike, was unable to test ride the DCT unfortunately. I think I have made up my mind on a new Adventure sports model. Both dealers are going to try and find me one. Any input from you guys with one? Anyone with a DCT have any insight on them?

I have a base manual. Its awesome. I didn't like that there is no clutch lever or shifter, on the DCT. Felt weird sitting on it, but I never test drove it.

I think the Rebel 1100 DCT would be similar to the AT 1100 DCT. Ill let @roguegs comment when he sees this.

Went on a test ride today. Didn't notice the fender at all. Got up to 60mph. Now need to decide on lights and placement too

Put the smaller lights down low and spaced out away from the headlight, either on the fork or the bottom crash bars. That gives the bike a very distinctive appearance and helps drivers at night realize it's a motorcycle and not a car further away with one headlight out. Being low lets you run them all the time without annoying oncoming drivers as well.

Im still deciding on if im keeping the smaller ones. I would definitely put them low or on the forks. If i keep them, id want a spot lens to reach far. Already have @GHOST SHIP and another guy lined up to buy them if i don't keep. Havent even had them 2 hours haha

i have the same ambers as my DRL/fogs on my truck and they're crazy bright. Same lens too. Definitely keeping these.

I love the 1100 DCT and it’s only been 4 days since I got it. Definitely takes getting used to with the dual clutch though. Reminds me of when I had my Mercedes’ DCT and when you’re in sport mode it was jerky but powerful. Same engine and drivetrain as the AT DCT but just tuned slightly different.

I’m just sad I can’t pull the clutch and give a few revs when going through traffic to let people know I’m there

One thing that impressed me when I got to test ride the DCT was the low speed maneuvering smoothness. I just assumed that’s be the one place it would be trash since you can’t finely feather the clutch at all. Man was I wrong. I was doing super tight circles and figure eights at the lowest speeds I possibly could and couldn’t get it to not be smooth as butter. Impressive!

my DCT is still learning since I just got it but once you get past the initial jolt at low speed, yes it’s butter smooth! The shift from 1-2 and 2-1 can be jarring at first but suppose that’s just a part of the initial break in

The one I rode had like 3 miles, so hopefully I just didn’t notice!
