That’s awesome!! Stoked for you! Man, what a great first bike. I started on a piece of junk carbureted 223cc Dual Sport haha.

I specifically picked up a Rebel 300 for the wife as she was finding the Chief too heavy and the SV too touchy on the throttle and brakes.

On that little 300 it pretty much doesn’t matter what gear you’re in or how hard you smash the levers it’s not much different either way haha a little more forgiving to upgrade from quickly.

She will be on the 500 or 1100 next! Safe and happy riding to you! The sport mode on that thing is pretty snappy ha. I’ll definitely be starting her in rain mode.

 

Thank you!!! I’ve been wanting this cruiser style bike ever since the Yamaha bolt came out. Once I heard there was going to be an auto cruiser..I was sold. I was thinking of doing a Harley with a Rekluse but never got around to it. I’ve seen a lot of videos of new riders that run off the road bc they are too busy fiddling with the clutch and gears. Personally, I’m really glad I can focus on the mechanics of shifting body weight and arc of curves on the highway. Call me blasphemous but if I want to drive a manual I’ll do it in a cage lol

I did rain mode for 30 minutes and said screw this lol I’ve been rolling around in standard just bc rain had too much engine braking for my taste. I’m not going to touch sport mode for a few more months!

Welp I dropped the klxs head off to get the valve work done it was cheap enough to let someone do it that knows how to haha so hopefully I’ll get the head back within a week so I can put the bike back together! But in the meantime I have always been on the hunt for a better looking and stronger front fender… I hated the 90s blocky oem design… the sm fender has the look but was way to short and wobbled at highway speeds plus the color was off…. And any new oem fender I’d have to make new holes… then saw @fatfurious2 new high fender and googled the company that makes it and they had what I was looking for thankfully! It’s got the more aggressive look of modern bikes fender plus it’s strong and sturdy and the color matched pretty well with my old green!

New KLR friend gave my a MoskoMoto heat shield to replace my piece of hand bent aluminum. Perfect fit now. Just need to fab something for the other side

Also it's 95 degrees out, hence the squidding with shorts, tshirt, and no gloves

I had also recorded an about 30 minute vlog riding around town, talking about if I'd buy the Navi again, since i'm at the over 6 month mark of owning it now and whatnot. Butttt, audio was complete garbage, rendering it basically all useless. Ugh. Might be time to invest in a better mic setup.
