I'm so discombobulated with the push button start. Don't need to remove the fob from my pocket....but do anyway....then reach for the ignition hole. The wife has had some rides over the years with it. But I rarely drove them.

After about 5 laps my inside knee was just about dragging with my butt hanging off the seat.
I pulled in and said any faster I need a helmet. The two kids practicing and taking a break with their parents laughed like hell.

Yea it took me a little bit to get used to that in the 3rd gen. But, I've found to love it.

For some reason the Subaru which is pretty loaded has just a basic key...

Let 'em laugh. Little fookers will be old someday too. And 48 years of climbing in, out of vehicles and hanging upside down under dashboards takes it toll.

If you think of the procedure it takes to start a push button car you wouldn’t want one..

Also, I have to remember....grap the handle unlocks it, touching the 2 lines locks it.....unless I use the fob.

The wife's SE sedan has a switchblade key. But for whatever reason the SE hatch is push button.

I did score one unexpected thing. Apparently Toyota is eliminating the spare tire and jack in favor of an air pump and fix-a-flat for '23 hatch. And they started doing this on some of the '22s. Lots of people on Toyota Nation say their '22 hatch does not have a spare or jack. But, for whatever reason, mine does. Eliminating it does lower hatch floor for more cargo room. However, it's got plenty of room for me and I'm glad to have the spare.

And you going to have to pay extra for stuff like heated seats, heated steering wheel and remote start even though it won’t work unless you pay for a subscription.

Well, the SE has no such features. Maybe the higher end trims do....XSE, Apex, etc

Think of it this way. A non heated seat cost $1000 let’s say. A heated seat cost $2000.
You don’t need or want heated seats. Your paying $1000 more for something that technically
Broken. You don’t want it but your paying for it anyway. It won’t work when you drive it off the lot.
So you had to buy something that’s a $1000 instead of a non heated seat. Then of course all those
Extra buttons that don’t work and customers won’t know that so the first time they try to use it
It won’t work. Salesman won’t say anything..

Funny you say that, I was just under the dash of my buddies 64 sprite... had to pull the hood hinge and it's an interesting bolt to get to.
