yeah, I'm thinking 18" goes to the 4Runner, currently I run 17" with -10mm offset and they rub slightly. Maybe 18" with 0mm I'm good

Wheel width and offset are the main things that matter for rubbing (and tire diameter)

assuming your current wheel is 17x8.5 -10, the 18 is slightly less aggressive

Rays will discontinue wheels throughout the years. OG's were discontinued when the Progressive 16" X and 18" Large PCD came out. Te37xt is now the intended offering for North American market of 6x139.7 (Toyota, RAM, and even Chevy) / 6x135 (Ford) / 5x127 (Jeep - JL) throughout the given specs.

18" PCD in specific. The 18" XT is the offering for Tundra / TRX - Ram / and Raptor.

18" Large PCD is already discontinued. No more factory orders, a few stragglers from delayed shipments may pop up or old stock as dealers decide to release them.

The Large PCD was only offered in 18" and an Ultra - 20"

For any ballers with Land Cruisers ... Ultra Large PCD is now available in 22" lol

thanks, I have the SCS F5 exactly that size 17" running 265/70/17 (stock size) for 4Runner, they rub against mudflaps and front edge of the inner wheel well at full lock and reverse back into a slope. I think that 4mm is all it need to stay clear.

just ordered the last set of that from showstopper. Going to mount a set of slightly small than stock Michelin Defenders at 265/65/18, so I should in theory have less chance of rubbing after.

    Screen Shot 2022-08-19 at 4.52.13 PM.jpg

I searched everywhere, they are all exactly the same price or higher. Either the profit margin is really just wafer thin or they are all colluding with each others on price.:anonymous:

I looked at those 20" and even 22", very baller, but why the offsets offered are so positive so high. In my opinion, 4Runner/Tacoma stock wheels are tucked way too much inside they make the truck look like a 300 lb body builder with chicken legs and tiny hips.

0 to -10mm is the sweet spot

Do it, once I thought dropping that kinda $$ was ridiculous.
But now looking at some cast wheels are getting into high $300, Japan made flow-formed at $500 mark, China made forged at almost $600.
    Volk TEs not too bad.
I still have in my garage many sets of cast, flow-formed wheels collecting dust, no second hand interests.
So, my conclusion is buy once cry once. Volk should last a decade if you don't break it with excessive impact force. Normal use should take a long time for the material to deform and not round for these forged wheels compared to cast wheels.

Totally agree, I feel the same way when I spent the $ on the set of Work Wheels that went onto my Audi YEARS ago. They're still on. REALLY happy

    Hi folks.
Do you mount your Volks on original wheel studs? I've searched and it seems there are mixed results, some say too few turns and need longer studs.

Also I haven't found any lug nut failure thread related to Volks here, so I'm not sure whether this is a legitimate safety concern.
    If switching to longer studs:
    • are the dorman Toyota matrix studs good and strong enough for Tacoma/4Runner use?
    • I'm paying a professional shop to do this, do you think it's physically possible to use those https://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-100-7715 ARP ones, is there enough clearance for them because they are quite long?
    • any rust issue possible due to open ended lug nuts?
    thanks!

I used stock studs for quite a while with no issues on or offroad. I finally installed longer dorman studs and get a few more turns on the nuts.

Dorman 610-462 Rear M12-1.50 Serrated Wheel Stud - 14.20mm Knurl, 44.10mm Length Compatible with Select Lexus / Toyota Models, 10 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001C0FAEI

Those ARP studs should work fine but you will probably have to use open ended nuts.

I'm using the same ARP studs you mention. i had some minor drama about it, you can find that starting in this thread here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/volk-racing-te-37-on-my-tacoma.447333/page-202#post-26794086

it worked out perfectly and I'd do it again, but it's always nice being informed first.

thanks, 10-pack is an awkward number, so just making sure, you replaced ALL 4 wheels right? that's 6 x 4 = 24, and I need 3 packs of 10 and have left over

I think only the fronts need to be replaced... the rears are longer... @WrecklessAbandon is that correct?

I ordered 2 10 packs. Only need to replace front studs. Rear are long enough.

10 pack isn’t really an odd number when you think about most cars/trucks are 5 lug
