This might be a long shot - a while back there was a forum post of a material someone had used as a replacement to their rear wall plastic and/or platform.

It was either a polymer/plastic type material, similar to the finish of the Goose Gear (I realize they just used painted birch).

I am hoping to use a plastic material versus paint wood for my build.

As a side note, has anyone ever permanently removed the AC rear door seatbelt mechanism? I don't use my rear seats for passengers, and the circled part seems to be prone to a "tinny" sound, thinking about just removing it all together, although unsure what the electrical connection into is for?

I pulled mine completely out of a 2022 sr5 access cab without any issues.

That electric connection is for the pre-load squib that tightens and locks the seatbelt in an accident as far as I know.

I permanently removed my AC seat belts and didn't have any issues but I don't recall if I have that plug in my 2010.

As for the rear wall you're going to want to Dynamat it in the very least to reduce the noise it's unbearable without some kind of noise deadening and sound absorption with the OEM rear wall and sound absorbing panels removed.

I did Dynamat Extreme, 2 layers, and a layer of Dynapad on mine and then I have an aluminum MOLLE panel over that for all my gear.

If you want just a smooth panel look into Marine grade Starboard, I'd go with at least 1/4" should be thick enough to not warp from heat and such but it usually ain't cheap.

I am going to Kilmat, CCF, and then MLV, so I should be OK with the sound! Awesome, thank you, starboard / HDPE is what I was looking for I think!

That is the power connection to ignite the explosive squib to rapidly retract the seat belt. You just need to be aware that that is an explosive device and could hurt you if mishandled.

As for the belts, I just unbolted the bottoms and tucked em behind the panel. I didn’t wanna mess with any of the safety system.

That picture is of the driver's seat belt retractor best I can tell, the rear seat belt retractor is behind the rear trim panel.
The yellow plug is for the seat belt pre-tensioner charge.

My 2011 doesnt have that plug.
That oem abs rear panel looks good, the mole panel also looks very good. Both are a little pricey.
Wonder if something like this could somehow workCB6E2091-7E4A-47AE-806C-7F39C759FAA9.jpg

Interesting, wonder how thick, might be prone to warp in hot temperatures, price is right though, if you try it let me know! hah
