Story Time With Gritto


I grew up on a farm not far north of there in Somerset County, PA.
On the plateau called Laurel Highlands.
There are a crapload of those windmills up there too.

My Mom was a city girl from Birmingham.
She wasn't born to farm life and though she stuck it out for over 20 years, just couldn't do it any more.
(If she hadn't gotten her way on indoor plumbing, she wouldn't have lasted a year.)

So we moved off the farm and my Dad worked as a dairy inspector for the PA Dept of Agriculture.
The saying is you should hire a poacher to be a game warden, 'cause they know all the angles.

Some of you might remember me saying that farms are dirty places...
... and critters get sick just as often as people do.
Think about that next time you're eating that raw steak...
