So I ordered a Bronco last winter and it just went into production last week with an expected delivery date of 9/2.

Wondering if there are any Tacoma lovers that made the switch to Bronco that can comment on their experience so far. I posted this same thing on the Bronco forums but I want to try to get as many objective points of view as possible lol

I have a 2017 TRD Off-road, double cab, manual moving to a 4 door Big Bend 2.3 with tow package, hardtop, locking diff, and manual so very similar builds in terms of overall capability.

Things I don't like about the Tacoma:
    - Gas mileage (only getting about 16-17 mpg with stock size 31"s General Grabber AT2s)
    - Overall cabin size is a bit tight (expecting our first kid soon so also factoring car seat, etc)
    - Seats/seating position not the most comfortable on long hauls
    - No Android Auto/Carplay
    - V6 power is underwhelming; max torque only 265 all the way up at 4600 rpms
    - Generally, just not very exciting to drive

Things I love about the Tacoma:
    - Looking at it/overall styling
    - Build quality/zero issues whatsoever over 5 years of ownership (knock on wood)
    - Established Aftermarket and availability of parts
    - The convenience of the bed when I need it
    - Easily being able to transport multiple kayaks, mountain bikes, etc without hooking up my trailer
    - It's paid off with 58,000 miles

6 pros and 6 cons haha. I'm hoping to get around $33k for my Tacoma, and the Bronco after tax and such will come in around $43k. I guess I'm starting to question whether the Bronco is actually worth dropping the extra $10ish k for. Would love to get any prior Tacoma owners' review of their whole Bronco experience so far if there are any out there - particularly the good and bad in terms of comparing the two vehicles. Thanks!

I bought a brand new Toyota 4x4 in 1991, in 1995 I sold it and bought a Bronco(still have it). The Bronco was worth the extra $. Hope this helps

Haven't driven one, but watched a brand new one get towed off the trail last weekend because "they probably wheeled it too hard and one of the accident sensors probably thinks he got in a wreck." There were about 15 new broncos and one sport that they stacked rocks for, they stopped by the lake for a photo and homeboy couldn't get that thing started...about 2 hours later they gave up and started towing him out. Not sure I would trust a Ford product these days, saw the writing on the wall and sold my last Ford product after owning less than a year.

    All of them.
Litebrite just posted a video comparing jeep and the new bronco. It's give a ton of negatives on the bronco. Like no rear cup holders and zero AC air into the rear seating area

My parents just got a new four door big boy bronco. It’s the 2.7L eco boost and it has the Sasquatch or some kind of off road package. It is a really nice driving machine. It terms of power and quality of interior and drive quality, it feels better than my third gen, night and day, no comparison. Given, we’re talking a $60k vehicle vs a used 6 year old $25k vehicle.

If you didn't already have the Bronco on order. I would suggest getting a Jeep Wrangler, over the Bronco due to availability.

Next Gen Tacoma with more power, higher Mpg. and better suspension will be a great upgrade.

You didn't get the Sasquatch package?! Why bother with a Bronco and Ford unreliability?

I have a 2017 trd pro and a 21 bronco with Sasquatch. We took the bronco through the Nemo tunnel and back trails and it did better than my buddies 2020 4Runner.
The little turbo 4 banger is amazing.

Didn't get sasquatch because it's a daily driver and I off-road with my side by side. plus sasquatch adds $7000 and an even longer wait. Main reasons for the switch in theory is the convertible factor, more interior space, and a much more engaging engine that still comes with a manual. Reliability is a bit of concern but at least it's not a Chrysler product I guess.

4th gen Tacoma might be a dud. Bronco already out performs it offroad. Ranger Raptor will out perform what ever TRD dreams up for the Pro. Gone will be the days of NA Toyota 4 and 6 cyl motors, and the motoring world will be focusing on electric pick ups. Nissan Frontier will take in all the old tech 3rd gen refugees.

Don’t sweat the small stuff, enjoy your new purchase. If you don’t like it the new Tacoma, Colorado and ranger are coming within the next few years.

A friend of mine bought a new bronco last year. Got into a minor collision (like, only paint transfer) which snapped the front axle and the insurance company declared it totaled.

That’s all I know about the new broncos.
