Yeah, Im running 235/85s now. I needed 4.56-1 gearing to make it stock with this size tire. So 4.88 will make it a bit off. I haven't gotten an chance to fill the tank and use the odometer to get an better idea of actual mileage, and then again after the conversion. I have the correct gear for the speedo sensor, but since Im doing a 4x conversion, I got the gear for the transfer case.

It's definitely off, but only a little. I'm hoping to compare before and after actual mpg.

I became a happier person when I stopped calculating MPG.

    That'll be interesting to know.
Have you tried using gps speed to see how much your speedo is off? An app on your phone would do the trick.

Same here! I know I'm around 14mpg but when people ask I just say I prefer not to talk about it. I feel much better.

Funny, I do the same with work. When someone asks how work is going I say I don't want to talk about it. I feel so much better.

I track the mpgs on my car and motorcycle. I use those a lot more than the truck. The truck is camping only these days. I use the motorcycle for camping a lot too. I rode 550 miles this weekend to go camping and used $55 in gas vs the truck would be a whole lot more. Plus I can lane split with the bike so I was able to shave off a lot of time getting there and getting home.

If it's a 2.7 the valves might be out of adjustment which can negatively affect the mileage.

Also cars will get about 2-4 more mpg at 9000 feet, but power will decrease along with it.

I have a 2003 2.7 5 speed extended cab, 285 K miles, all stock. Original owner and a grandpa, driving like one too. Mostly open road at @ 60 miles per hour, sometimes running air conditioning, sometimes not, weather depending, on ethanol free 90 octane gas from Sheetz. With this combination I have been averaging 26.4 MPG for several tanks as indicated by ScanGauge and pencil to paper calculation.

HA! I literally came here to report about that lol. I checked it against my phone and I'm 10mph off at 60 actual mph (speedo shows 70mph).

My scangauge is telling me 21mpg at 65.
