Listen, I know my truck wasn't a factory TRD sport or off road. The modifications I'm slowly adding to the truck will be custom to how I want it to be and it will be on par with a factory TRD minus electronic assists. I'll be adding 3rd Gen OR suspension, skid plates, Harrop E locker, OR factory rims (I genuinely like the way they look, have them just not installed yet), all terrain tires, plus a few other things I've upgraded to make the truck a bit better off asphalt than the factory base truck. Take that for whatever it's worth. Or don't, I don't care.

    The reason for the post:
I found a photo of truck on here from another member that had some TRD All Terrain decals I thought I would purchase. I got the decals and the more I think about it the more I'm on the fence about it. I think they look awesome, I'm a decal kind of person which is why I added the old school Toyota decal to the tail gate...

Anyway what do yall think? Maybe try to knock me on one side of the fence or the other. Dumb or go for it?

If you like them do it.

    Why not?

Afraid of being some kind of poser?

Nobody cares and if they do they're just trying to justify themselves.

I actually really like them. TRD means dick all. Most sports just have shocks, slightly bigger tires and lipstick, thats it. If it looks good, do it.

The tail gate letters not so much my cup of tea.

Yea you have a point, I'm not trying to be ridiculed for some stickers I guess. One side of me is like don't look like an ass, the other is like who the hell cares

Those tail gate letters get me every time I see an old Tacoma or Hilux on line. I think they look retro asf on a newer truck. But I could understand why you wouldn't like them

Do what you think is best, but decals will get the famous crud on the edge and will beg to be removed. It’s almost like your creating a future problem.

Decals are harder than oil changes. Jesus. But they look great. Thanks for the replies guys. Sometimes it takes a little encouragement lmao.

I like them. It actually goes well with your color scheme. Maybe black out the chrome decals. I have more annoyance with 2WD Tacomas with the 4x4 decals.

The same shit everyone else has.
Do it if you like em.

If you sell it, just be honest with the buyer so they know it isn’t actually a TRD.

I wouldn't think they would really care at that point. They'd be getting a TRD suspension plus an E locker. It'd technically be on par with old school factory off roads and more capable than factory sports. I think pre 09 trucks didnt even come with TRAC settings. "Yea I'm selling this truck with TRD All Terrain badges, it's got a rear locker along with E-LSD, TRD Off Road suspension, TRD Off road rims with all terrain tires, upgraded interior goodies, 4lo TRAC mod, added factory fog lamps, TRD skids, TRD shift knob, bed cover, ...by the way, it's not a TRD. You can remove the badges if you want."

It's your truck, do whatever makes you happy.

Goofy side story, my decals are long gone. A couple of years ago I had some kid (early 20s anyways) in the grocery store parking lot compliment my truck then comment that it was too bad it wasn't an off-road- told him to look at the rear axle. Suddenly he thought I should debadge the whole thing ; maybe one of these days I'll get around to it.
