I havent used my PayPal in forver, and when i logged in; it said my account was limited. So? im like, okay, no biggie. well they want faxed information. ( I dont have a fax) so I say, okay ill just make a new account. well when i go to add my credit card. it says its used in my other account. So i go to remove it, and i cant remove it because my account is limited. WTF? I hate when companies make things difficult.

I hate, and don't understand the purpose of Pay pal. I can't set up an account because I let my son use my card to set up an account for him to buy something years ago. So now if I HAVE to buy through pay pal, I have to ask my nineteen year old to do it for me.

Paypal absolutely sucks. One time someone filed a fraudulent eBay claim against me, and Paypal withdrew 50 bucks from my bank account. The claim got dismissed the same day it was filed, but Paypal didn't return the money to my account for about 4 days.

Emphasis mine. I have used PayPal quite a bit, but far less so these days. Aside from some hiccups, my experiences were uneventful. I filed a few claims, winning them all, because [frankly] I wrote far more eloquently than the morons I bought from who wrote like this: "I SOLD PRODUCT AND HE NOW HAS IT SO I WANT TO KEEP THE MONEY BECAUSE I SOLD THE PRODUCT"

So I know exactly how frustrating "closed" systems like Paypal are. Facebook/Apple are other examples of damn closed systems, whereas Google is rather open.

Good luck with Paypal - they are a real pain in the neck customer service wise!

    Don't understand it?

Well.. IF I have my credit card, or actually my bank account information stored with Paypal. I can use that information at a different location. Say "bob's fly fishing emporium". Which happens to be a rinky dink russian operation. If I didn't have paypal, I'd be passing Sergei, AKA Bob, all my banking info, instead of just a receipt for being paid via paypal. Now all I have to worry about is one web site holding my information and it's one that is large enough to accept liability and try to protect the information which it stores.

It doesn't have to be paypal. I've thought of using google checkout, but its only accepted at a few locations so far. Well, relatively few. Bill me later used to be my option of choice, but It sucks to forget about it and start accruing interest.

Yea, you can spread your credit card information and everything else along with it to thousands of databases run by who knows who... I'll try to limit mine.

Whoo. got to pick myself up off the floor, from the google to paypal comparo. Yipes. You go ahead and check the differences between goog checkout and paypal.

That make sense. I guess I always thought if I had a problem with a purchase, I could dispute it with my card Co. But I'm not so sure they've got my back. Especially when it comes to Sergei.

that happened to me, they wanted me to fax my SSN and my I.D. over and it was one of those, are you kidding me? Like I'm going to just fax information like that over?

    neglect, mostly.
yeah i wouldn't be surprised if the credit card company hasn't sent you and email, called or even cancelled. pay pals a great system, you just have to use it for only what it was made for and nothing else.
