Part one of some punch list mods to be completed.

Did a slight modification to my exhaust system. To more "balance" the sides. Basically I was lazy and reused old material instead of matching the transition sizes for both sides. Ran well enough, but that pressure differential has bothered me for a long time. Passenger side is 2" into the twin scroll fange. The driver side out of the header, was 2.25", crossed over, then reduced down to 2". Matching that of the passenger side. Now that is fixed. Just need to get it back on the truck now.



A sample of the old. That material did however save me a lot of cash, since it all had been re-used many times. Lol.



With just enough fortune, I finished with the needle on "E." Super lucky. As I need my truck together to get the tank refilled.



Haven't bolted it back to the truck yet, but I am anxious to see if there is any noticeable improvement in spool time. I believe there should be.

Going to soon make a variant of this passenger header to for a twin scroll internally wastegated setup, as well as another for an external wastegate setup, to sell.

 

Next thing to do is swap the Kelford intake camshafts back in, and get to some tuning by a professional. Mine has worked but I feel that there is a lot left of the table that could be had. Maybe @JustDSM would like some experience???

 

So both sides are equal diameter where they collect now? Shouldn't the passenger side be a lil bit bigger ideally since it's shorter? Probably still much better than before i imagine

 

The bellows is a nice upgrade over the flex pipe too, imo.

Side note, I really like the new Evolution: Stainless saw blade. Makes quick work of 304 grades. Only down side, is that little chips fly everywhere. Hot little buggers too. Great clean cuts, but tons of chips. I need a self lowering band saw.

Cannot even remember how long ago that I had purchased these ARP head-to-header studs. Being in there, it was just finally time. Probably close to 10 years have they been sitting on the shelf. Quick chase of the threads in the head and done. The Gear Wrench ratchet tool for their tap kit helped to make quick work of the process.

Nothing fancy, but the OEM ones were just far too corroded and needed to be upgraded. The environment next to years of turbo heat, certainly aided in that corrosion.

 

What is the overall width and height of that IC?

Part# 703520-6005. 925 supported power. That should be the proper Garrett Turbo part number. Be thorough though.

 

Im prob gonna switch to a custom made core. Garrett makes nice shit. I got a mushimoto or some shit like that. If I have issues ill prob address with something bigger or w2a. Just wanted to know the size you were able to fit. My steering gear fucks the whole ic thing up bad. This is the biggest I could fit. I 27" overall wide and 12 or 15 high.

 

Dayum dude! You need to post up more details in the Turbo BS thread. You've got a heck of a build going on.

Obvious difference, is that my truck is a wider body. My choice of end tanks were Treadstone Performance. They came with a diverter welded in already, and had the outlets the size that I needed. They added a good few inches to the overall length. Thus requiring me to weld on tight radius cast bends.

 

Sweet. Yeah, W a core you have options though. I need a pass side low inlet and a driver high to mid outlet. That is like $1000 for that combo so I’m gonna make when I have time to fine tune things.

 

If you have the tools to cut the sheet metal to make your own end tanks, more money saved. I feel like you have the tools.
