Hoping to get that one done this weekend, cause I have a bunch of Swamp Lake to edit.

Are there any norcal/tahoe area 4x4 recovery groups on facebook yall would recommend joining in case I need help? I set up a facebook account for access to marketplace, but Might as well join a recovery group to be safe since I've now got an account.

Was having second thoughts about doing Dusy in a couple weeks.

Then, I was driving home from work, looked up, and the offroad gods spoke to me.

So... what should I bring for spare parts? lol

 

Just do it. Best case it goes perfectly and you have a story to tell. Worse case you have an epic break and recovery. Then you've got a great story to tell. lol

 

That's exactly what the guys I'm going with said. lmfao!

 

One of the guys in the group (not going this time) went a couple weeks ago. Said Thompson is pretty tore up.

But you know how that goes, by saying that it makes his trip sound more epic lol... so who knows.

 

Thompson has 3 levels of damage.

Shitty.
Really shitty.
Completely fucked.

None of them are easy and if you find it completely fucked be prepared to break, winch, fix, repeat.

 

Hell, we had to bust out 2 winches, a snatch block, and a high lift for me on Swamp.

Wouldn't be surprised if something goes South on Dusy.

 

Was the rear locker working? Thompson is a step up from anything on Swamp. Mainly because it's so steep for so long with so many big rocks. lol
