Nope completely different from a 2nd gen.

You need 2 ball joint kits, you can rent them from O'Reilly's but you'll need 2 so you may have to go to 2 stores and you'll need the ball joint sleeve adapter kit from harbor freight to install the new one, there's a thread on it somewhere on here.

After my last fight with a lower ball joint, I’ll probably just go with a whole LCA.

If you’ve never seen a ball joint press explode, it’s a hell of a sight. One I never want to see again.

    Yep, not worth the trouble.

Between the ball joints and the bushings, it’s so much easier/faster to do a new LCA.

    Yikes!

Did you repaint your driveway brown?

It was definitely a good fight to do them but not the worst job I've done on the truck.

I wouldn't trust aftermarket control arms seen at least one failure on here from a doorman that caved in.

I'd like to do stock length aftermarket lowers like TC or DK but at that price point may as well go LT and I'm not ready for that yet so OEM ball joints from UAE is what I used.

I had already replaced my bushings with poly was another reason I just did the ball joints.

I was a helper, it was my brothers Ram Truck.
Let’s just say we put our heads together (always bad) and used a chain link fence post for extra leverage. Mistakes were made, lessons learned.

Well, I can honestly say that I’ve learned many valuable lessons the hard way.
I can’t say I’m proud of it, but damn sure not ashamed of it.
I’m still alive to tell everyone else what they shouldn’t do.
They say we all have a purpose in life, mine must be to teach people what not to do from my mistakes.
