Patrick has a sweet lil truck if its the same one I am thinking of. I was on that run with stl. It was my first trailride. I have only been to a few events with kctc and 1 event with stl group. I went to the gladetop takeover. I had fun at it. So far I havent seen any drama but I am kinda lowkey and keep to myself a bit. I havent heard great things about them on here though. I joined every group I could when I got my tacoma trying to find places and people to learn from, hoping to stay out of any drama though.

If you're up for it, STL Tacoma Owners (actually based in STL lol) is hosting a "summer camp" at Flat Nasty this weekend. These guys are seasoned vets of the off-road community, are a hoot to hang with, and actually know their stuff when it comes to trail repairs and recoveries. I normally lead trail rides with them but am unable to make it this time due to family obligations.

I totally would but the wife just made reservations at a local state park for us to break in the new camp trailer we just bought. Its our first camp trailer so we are staying close to home for first time out. Is there a fb group for them? I use fb for that mostly finding groups and all that to go with. I am still mostly stock+. I still need sliders to really do anything to crazy. Well I still have to drive it and pull my camp trailer with it so I cant get too crazy anyway lol. I did push it a bit harder than I would have on my own when down at gladetop though. There is a Video on mark twain mafia youtube page. I think I did ok for it being pretty much brand new! I dont think most would do what I did with mine that day but some would for sure, I just dont have NO F@#$ GIVEN money!

the only actual thing they're good for is when they have a garage sale and sell off the stuff they either didn't use or pulled off a vehicle. I got my old 590lb coils I used to run for a crisp $20. too bad when they opened the doors a KCTC admin was already inside with a pile of shit put off to the side for herself..... :jerkoff:

    Also, we've been talking ATR 2023. @CygnusX191 @Sasquatch3153 @Sociopenguin @Sear87 @Juisebocks
I think I did some quick mafs the other day and came up to $300 for @gasparic104 and I to go. I'll have to reverify. How's the meals they provide Josh and Timm? or should we just plan for feeding ourselves the whole time?
I figure we could head out early, meet up with yall in STL, then convoy forth to Windrock.

Could be fun, but can't say for certain yet. Depends on some other vacation possibilities for next year, etc.

I generally try to avoid highways in the YJ for reasons. Between that and side trips, estimating at least $500 in fuel based on current prices. Probably need to throw a winch on before going, too. Would be a decent excuse to bug some friends in Knoxville.

    STL Tacoma Owners

Don't forget about Shamrock Shakedown. The food they provide isn't bad but you will want to bring more for yourself since they only provide dinners on a few of the nights. That being said the Ohio crowd that I hang with when I'm there cook a crapload of food. So if you end up dropping your beef or something come over for a bowl of chili. Also we'll talk logistics details closer to the event but there's a certain way the STL crowd camps out there. It's known as the "Fort Kickass" method.

You will want skids and sliders.

Winches are cool, you generally won't need one unless you're running the stupid trails which you won't be doing in your YJ or your taco. Everybody runs in groups and if you run in my group we've got enough recovery gear I will be just fine. We also all drive our rigs down there so we're not in the business of breaking things to the point where they can't be driven back

Go buy the badlands apex 12k. It's overbuilt and everyone says if you repack the planetary gears with some quality grease it'll last forever.
