    You know, southern California is one place where solar and all-electric cars can actually work.
    Lots of sun in the Mojave Desert, and close to congested urban areas.
    The infrastructure is manageable and close enough to where the power is needed to mitigate transmission loss.

    I read the other day how Germany went the whole hog on wind and solar.
    The nameplate capacity is (supposedly) over twice what they need.
    What do they actually get?
    A tenth.
    Similarly, solar just ain't happening here in the Northeast... not enough sun, and it's silly to pretend otherwise.

    Hybrid gas /electric vehicles are interesting though.
    I'm looking hard at maybe getting a Ford Maverick Hybrid. :crapstorm:

    If I put in an order for one, I might get it a year from now...
