Yep, feeling very lucky to have it, he suggested it was perfect for me to use whilst we finish our current travels in the US. The guy that hand makes them has since retired but still fixes them if needed but that won’t always be the way.

Personally I feel it’s too important to use for everyday fishing… however things are made to be used and I will for sure appreciate it every time I use it, but not as my everyday…

Sadly this will probably be the last time we will fish together unless his upcoming hip replacement makes him feel a few years younger…

 

We limited out on Fluke today. That’s a first for me…

We fished the Flounder Pounder Tournament, 3 days of fishing. Limited out on fluke all 3 days for a total of 48. Heaviest was 5 lbs and didn’t make the board…

Mahi was out in the Atlantic, the other 3 were in Alaska.

 

What's the deal with the barometric pressure and how it relates to the fish biting? Is this really a thing?

Also being a fish guy for most of my life (300 gallon saltwater reef tank currently, been going for over 15 years) I cant help but think if the moon phases play a roll too.

We’re those fish good eating?

 

When there's low pressure in the water there's less pressure on the fish's body. Thus making it want to eat more to get full (more bites). On the contrary when there's high pressure on the fish's body it feels full and will not bite.

 

Ive been reading alot on the subject, I hear the best scenario is pressure drop, Ive tried this theory, with little notice on days with low or days with high pressure.
