Makes sense! My black Mercedes is the same way with swirls. At least German paint is an inch thick.

This is just my 2c.. But don't get ceramic if you plan on offroading or doing any sort of work with your truck. Sure it protects the paint but it scratches really easily, and when it does, the scratches are white and super noticeable.

Griots All in One ceramic applied by hand or with a da. Followed by 3&1 a week later, 48 hr later one more coat. Maintain with their ceramic wash and coat and ceramic detailer. Do this twice a year and your good. Or spend thousands having a pro ceramic if you want. Depends if your ocd keep it clean like me go the first route if not the second.

    Thanks
With a brand new truck, 7 years of protection and a warranty for $1000 is a fair deal I would say.

Many of the companies that have a warranty, require a yearly check by the approved detailer at $250-300.

I have the 845 and use it on the glass and lights.
Seems every time I pick up the bottle I manage to fumble it on me, the truck, the ground... :annoyed:
With the old style paste 476S the odds of me making a mess are (slightly) less.

Yep. I’m telling you I’ve been using griots for years. Great products. PM your email or cell and I’ll send some video and pics of how well the water beads and basically the truck dries itself.

Yeah, if I could go back I never would have had the ceramic done, and I'd just wax a few times a year and hit it with a silicone detailing spray every few cleanings.

The paint on the Tacoma is the most fragile I have ever experienced.
It seems a falling leaf will chip or scratch it.
Same goes for the interior plastics, amazingly easy to mark. :notsure:

He's talking about a professional service of ceramic coating. Very different from a DIY spray ceramic wax like Griots or Turtle Wax.

The Achilles heel of the Tacoma — the interior plastic is horrendous … makes me kinda mad. Any tips? I’m going to find those clear screens that go on the instrument cluster, radio, and shifter display for example (if I can find the one recommended here) but like .. the door plastic for example scratches if you look at it intensely … the only part that doesn’t scratch is the dash

It takes at least a day alone just to prep the paint for a professional ceramic coating. Minimum 2 day's to do the entire job. It'll protect your trucks paint way longer than any store bought ceramic spray, or wax. I had simoniz do my truck, but imo, it really comes down to the person,or persons doing it being so labor intensive.

Did it myself. Wash, clay, wax. New paint is a bit rough. I waited about 2 weeks. Ceramic seems to be the new go to. I have wax on all 3 cars and live in CO. All hold up well.

Cool. Is there a really good package of stuff that has everything - wash, wax, clay, towels, inside stuff? Chem brothers ?

Dude go spend the extra money and have a professional install a paint protective film. Yes it will be expensive, but will keep your paint fresh for years to come. I wish I would have done this when I first got my truck.
