@crashngiggles that was the trail and food/beer place we did last summer, right?

hey, I updated the taco with some Fox 2.5 coilovers. Soooooo much better in the road, and on the trail too.

    The Gx looks awesome.

I love seeing trucks with normal sized tires handle tough trails!

Fresh rash from yesterday. Wanted to take it off and refinish it while it's off waiting for woolwax.

Stain is old now fixed leaking axle seal.

    Time for exhaust reroute!

I really need to run this trail in the summer when the rocks are nice and warm. We ran it in November and I got denied on one ledge. A crawl box might help too.

That might be a good idea since when we went this last time, it was super dry.

I love my trail gear tcase. Highly highly recommend it.

But I’m the 5.29 gears I have are too low. I’m gonna switch them to 4.88’s.

I don't mind my 5.29's I have gotten used to hearing the motor scream doing 80 at this point. If anything I wish I can get rid of the 5.29's and change my fifth gear. That or just go up to 37's :p

As for crawl boxes I really have my eyes set on the NWF box because I can clock it and gain crucial ground clearance. I have been high centered on my t case skid more times than I can count.

Yeah, I could see going to 35’s and that would definitely help. But I like the idea of lengthening the 5th gear no matter what I do.

    My combo of
    2.28 Toyota
    4.7 Trail-gear
    5.29 diffs
    33.1” tires (285/75-17 KM3’s)
    5-spd manual transmission

is just too low. In Low-Low on the trail, it’s total overkill. Meaning that 4.88’s would be just as effective (probably more so) on 99.99% of the obstacles.

That said… three cheers for crawling!

Oh wow you are on 5.29's on 33's? Yeah I imagine that is terrible on the highway! Agreed a longer 5th is helpful no matter what. I have read a little into it but haven't seen many US success stories.

Let us know if you find a shop that does a good job with the reroute. I'm in the market as well.

I have a good shop that will do it, it is the same shop that did mine. They are in Monson MA and the are called service connection. AL is the owner and is a master at exhaust. I highly recommend him. He has done a lot of exhaust work for me on different vehicles over the years.

Has anyone tried doing their own reroute? I have a welder and am thinking why not.

A competent welder most certainly can do it but you also need to bend the pipe that you are putting in there.
