How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

You register the permanent VIN on the Toyota App. Are you saying that the Dealership web-site still shows the temp VIN? It may be a case that your browser has cached the page. Try another browser just to be sure.

 

Wow they extended this Hold. I've switched to a different truck from another dealer. I really hope you get this truck soon or find something else local.

 

I'll be calling today to the dealership. The fix is for the dealership to check the seatbelt latch, so I see no reason why the truck won't move from the railyard. I got a few unlocks notifications in the App yesterday and thought that might be good news. I also know of a few other trucks at other dealerships that are out there with mine. I'm going to check in with them to see if there trucks are moving or if they have any information.

 

I check the speadsheet daily and call dealers daily but there isn't much inventory. So late into this to start over but I'll keep looking

 

Yeah...Original build date was 8/15 then pushed to 8/19 and now 8/24. Hopefully this isn't a trend. Mine will be a week behind yours or so probably but maybe you're right and they hold the ship until it's full. If it's slow coming out of manufacturing then it could hold up the ship which makes sense many trucks seem to be stuck at Veracruz.

Ahh remember the boring ole days when you walked on a dealers lot picked out your vehicle and in a day or 2 driving away with it but look all the fun we would miss...nope...

Truck is scheduled to be build on 09/14.

 

I check again this morning to see if there was anything else on there, maybe a note or something. Below is a picture of what I found, still shows the hold but is on the truck for delivery. Lets hope it gets there and system is right. I had to take of picture of this one since is all confusing.

 

The truck was build on 07/30, processing was completed 08/01. Original ETA : Aug 19, 2022 - Aug 24, 2022.
But the truck has not move, or at least it has not update. Still showing in San Diego, awaiting rail transport to Princeton. After that is a Semi ride to the dealership.

 

@Rod03 thanks for the update. Any way you could check 3TMCZ5AN4NM503383 ? This was the original truck I had my deposit on. It is now showing that the regal has been fixed in the app. I didn’t know if the hold was still on it. I’m trying to get something before the end of the month because that’s how long the dealer agreed to keep the $ amount on my trade in. I’ve already lost money on it. I don’t want to keep losing $. Thanks.

 

I don’t have the permanent one yet. I did register the temp VIN on the app and via the webpage I was able to get a loose spec sheet that showed which factory it was built at. In the app I was able to access all the manuals in the Glovebox section and both stopped working on Friday. I spoke with my sales rep yesterday and he confirmed they still don’t have the permanent VIN yet.

Maybe I’m being too optimistic on what the app data means. Guess if I don’t have a perm VIN this afternoon I’ll send Rod a beer in what the temp is showing.

An old article on, I think, Edmunds.com actually had a reporter go "undercover" to get a job as a car salesman. Bottom line? Most know almost nothing about the cars they sell. He got one job by telling the manager how he could sell him a pencil out of his pencil cup. And they target people with the worst financial backgrounds for the greatest non-value-added garbage and put immense pressure on salespeople to perform. Many (not all) of the sales people worked there because they couldn't get a job doing anything else. It was an amazing article.

Don't get me wrong - this isn't a blanket indictment of all salespeople. But it clearly pointed out that many if not most salespeople are just that - salespeople - constantly being pushed to close deals with maximum profit - but have minimal knowledge of what they're actually selling or the systems that support sales and delivery.

 

The truck is not showing a hold anymore, it does have an ETA. Still at Princeton so far.

Thank you @Rod03 for going above and beyond. What a crazy ride. I called the dealership this morning and they also told me that it was on a truck for delivery. They were trying to confirm it was on a truck for delivery
