How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Wow, my dealer made it seem like the tech worked on my truck to repair the latch, if all they did was get instructed by Toyota to check the weld and if the weld is good then release from hold - then we all got bamboozled. Geniuses over there at Toyota Corporate. I missed two camping trips over that?

 

Woohoo! Picked up my Pro yesterday! And said good bye to my trusty 4runner.

Soooooooooooooooo . . . I ended up getting a call a few days later from the salesman and the "sales coordinator." They said they got zero allocations for July (a lie, turned out), that I was 5th in line for a Tacoma 4x4 (another lie), and the other 4 ahead of me were all waiting for lunar rock (somewhat true), so the next 4x4 that showed up was going to be mine (I had told them I would take any color). This was mid-July, and they were expecting their August allocations to drop August 10. I was leaving town that day so I stopped in on the 9th just so they would remember my dissatisfied face.

LO AND BEHOLD! There was a shiny red TRD Sport 4x4 in the showroom, which clearly was a July allocation, and yet wasn't mine! Boy I was upset. My sales guy was out that day, another salesperson came and started explaining that that unit was sold, blah blah blah. I kindly informed her of my situation and asked to speak with the sales manager. "Sorry, he's in a meeting, it'll take 40 minutes." (Total BS . . . they just say this so you won't wait, and even if you do, after the meeting he goes to a 2 hour lunch.) I said look bish, you're full of shit, watch this. Walked over to the sales manager's office and knocked on the door (he was in there solo of course).

I entered and explained the whole situation to him, that I have already been waiting 5 months and they had only lied to me repeatedly. He said of course they hadn't received any damaged units, of course they received a few 4x4 allocations for July, and showed me the waiting list. I was #8 . . . after 2 people had dropped off because they received their July allocated units. So they're getting 2 a month, I'm #8. FOUR more months of waiting. I informed him I wanted to cancel my order. He said "well, if you'll take a 2wd I can get you a silver 2wd end of this month (august)." I said fuck it, sell me the damn thing, I'm sick of this bullshit.

So . . . I'm getting a silver TRD Sport 2wd either this Friday or Monday, depending on when they can get the Jalisco plates assigned. I dropped my 10% deposit on March 7. Fukkin worst experience ever.

 

@Rod03 that mixed message didn’t end in my favor. Truck still has a hold with no ETA yet. I had a few hours of optimism

Holy Crap! I can't believe this is happening. I feel like a kid on Christmas. I put my deposit down on January 18th for a Lunar Rock TRD OR DBL cab. I couldn't be more excited. @Rod03 could you check this VIN?

Put down initial deposit in January. Originally thought we wanted a white pro. Sales person asked on May 20th if we were interested in an MGM, which by that time had become our preferred choice. Truck was built early July and delivered to western WA dealer 3 days ago. I was following it the whole way, sales person was a little helpful and Rod was helpful as well.

 

No update still.

They are still waiting for the parts for the latch system. They won’t release it until it is fixed. That’s from the salesman. Not sure about the parts because the remedy is inspect the welds and if needed add welds.
