Hey guys, i checked my oil and I smelt it and noticed a faint hint of a gas smell. Is this normal for the 2.7s? Or should I be concerned.

I’ve never notice that on any vehicle Ive owned, my 2.7L has only a little over 8k miles. Sounds like piston ring blow by, maybe worn rings. A compression test should be able to tell that.
Also Do you change oil and filter on a regular basis?

Not normal ! Get some of those test strips that you dip in the oil.

Worn rings can let raw gas into the crank case if one cylinder has incomplete combustion.

oil dilutes enough good by bearings.

A: switch to 1000mile oil changes

B: buy used/new engine for install

    C: Rebuild current engine

D: continue driving and pretend you don’t know about any issues.

E: sell truck to highest bidder

    what would you recommend?

The most common reason your oil smells like gas is that you are only driving short distances and not letting your engine become really hot once in a while. It can also be caused by a rich air-fuel mixture which faulty fuel injectors or misfires can cause.
I have been changing my own oil for the past 40 years, and it "always" smells a bit like gas.

When was the last time you changed your PCV valve? If the engine isn't breathing the combustion blowby will build up in the crankcase. Just a thought.
