Yes, but chem guys stuff is kinda hit or miss, some of their products are great while others are meh.

    Wash - Meguiars Gold Class
Clay - Adams Clay mitt (mitts are easier to use than traditional clay, does 90% as good of job)
    Wax - Turtle Hybrid
Towels - Chem Guys (Super fluffy and absorbent)
Interior cleaner - Meguairs Quik Interior Detailer (they sell wipes as well which are good to leave in the backseat for a quick wipe of the dash)
Interior plastic protect - 303 Auto protectant (works great on soft cover tonneau's as well)

You can find this stuff cheaper at most auto part stores, online gets taxed because of shipping. This is what I use, but i'm sure some will disagree.

Yeah, i was lucky to have mine done by a high volume shop that had the simoniz franchise. They did a great job making the finish look like it had a thin sheet of glass over it. Still looks the same after 2 1/2 years. I don't wash, or wax the truck either. A good rain storm takes care of that.

To be honest I don’t know but I wouldn’t think so. I mean it’s the same thing they wrap super cars with to protect the paint so it definitely would work on our trucks.

after owning and operating a detail shop for 15 years before selling, so many gimmicks out there. I personally use Mckees37 Hydro Blue. The SiO2 car wash, and the SiO2 rinseless wash. Absolutely love this stuff. In Wisconsin winters, it protects pretty good. No issues.

Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. I put 2 coats on when new. Then 2 coats once a year.
It's synthetic wax, so it won't stain plastic of you get a little sloppy :)

Anyone know if Toyota paints all their trucks the same thickness or if certain colors are thicker than others

Based on my own experience the Metallics are thicker. I’ve owned a lunar rock, magnetic gray, midnight black and the lunar rock was significantly thinner than the others. I use a professional paint depth gauge that measured in mils and microns

Heres the Opto-coat trained detailers near you. I Saw you listed as being in Houston

"" Opti-Coat gives two designations to its installers. An approved Opti-Coat installer is one who has the approval of the company, while a certified installer is one who has also received training for installing Opti-Coat. Using either type of installer provides the same warranty for the customer, but can lead to different results in quality. ""

Chemical Guys fan here. All sorts of products for interiors and exteriors. I use Jet Seal once or twice per year with Butter Wet Wax on top. Keeps my 12 year old black Prerunner looking great. It's a lot of work but well worth in IMO.

That is why I am the only one that will ever coat my truck.

I wonder about those who wash once or twice a year. Everyone has their own choice BUT remember a good wash, clay ,wax and or ceramic sealer. They do not last 7 years. That is bull. It’s like oh. 10k between oil changes. I wash when it looks like it needs it, every 1-2 weeks. I wash clay wax/seal 4-6 times a year. I found a plastic molding protector that claims 9 months, I put it on half and one who claims 6 months. 6 months lasted 3. The 9 month is still looking great. Your truck your choice

Same experience i've had. The sliverish/gray metallic color i had on my tundra was much thicker than any of the plain red, or blue color's on my other toyota's. Even the white that was on my brothers older rave4 was very thin looking.

my experience is ceramics will last 2-3 years at most. I've never seen one last 7 years.

OP, someone mention IGL. If you can find a certified shop, that is a good coating. Professional shops usually need a certification from the company of the product they use and this isn't easily given. Probably ok to use a reputable, certified shop.

Actually I correct myself. I put on gtechniq CSL and EXO on my dads Subaru. It sits in the garage mostly but that coating has lasted 5 years.
