After you said you ordered one I was thinking of doing the same and tossing the 33, but hemmed and hawed cause that’s what I do. I think you’ve talked me into it!

No doubt it’s smoother and the retrieval is easier. I don’t need it to pull all the line back in with three revolutions. This fish was just about the same size I was playing with on the 33. Much easier to reel in.
Wasn’t thinking gee this reels hard..

Then this piece gets bolted and the other piece gets welded. They’ll be a couple more holes after welding.

You should see the drawers in the machine shop. We have an old school machinist who is really good. I’ll try to take a picture of his set up when he’s gone. He doesn’t like anyone going in his room.

I’ll ask my boss about this one tomorrow, I’m pretty sure he knows what this one is for.

Chuggin along.. Got the blank flat within .0002".. so onto the features. I re-qualified the top face so that when I establish the steps below it.. I can hit the flat/parallel of .0004". 1/16 Endmill running now for my final rough Op for the cavity. Then onto the 1/32 Ball. Waiting for it to show up..

Yep!, always Carbide in our steel jobs. It's actually a Z-Carb from SGS/Kyocera. Max Rippums on our HAAS's... 12k spindles. Sure wish I had more spindle... then this toolpath wouldnt take 2 hours...
