    Morning CT.

Checked the fitment of the bracket for the GPS antenna, lets just say it's a "prototype". I bent it in the wrong spot and I have to cut a big notch in it for a plastic tab that's part of the dash.
I have more metal to make another one. But I'll be using CAD (construction paper aided drafting) to make a mock bracket before cutting anymore metal.
As a side note, the aluminum sheet came in so I can make the bracket to hold the power distribution block. I'll be using CAD on that also.

I'll also need to see how rusted the bolts are that hold the air pump and remove it so I can see about relocating it (on-board air mod).

It shouldn't be a washout today and the rest of the week looks nice.

Morning all. Finally got a decent rain yesterday. The trailer truck crash on 84 yesterday in Vernon was near my exit. Traffic on local roads was insanely heavy as a result. And I got a new windshield in my 911 yesterday so that was interesting to watch.

Nice. Eastern Connecticut has had a tough summer. We had a steady few hours yesterday. Won't bring lawn back from dormancy but at least my landscaping got a good drink.

Went on a service call a couple years ago for a camera that stopped working. Checked connections up at the recorder, nothing. Checked the camera with my tester, nothing. Pulled some of the cat6 out and saw someone had made a snack of my wire right near the camera, either a squirrel or a mouse little bastard

Sometime I'll tell you the story of rodent damage on my former Boxster's engine wiring harness. Be prepared to see a grown man cry.

Since I'm in a bad mood now just thinking about it...I kept it in the winter at my FIL's house since he had an empty bay which let me keep both our vehicles indoors at our house for the winter. Steel wool stuffed into the exhaust and intakes, couple of boxes of poison under it, moth balls under it, and the interior and both trunks with more dryer sheets than a coin-op laundromat. Pick it up in the spring. Starts fine, runs fine. Throws a CEL on the drive home. No biggie, probably gas cap or something simple.

Call my indy specialist and drop it off. My phone rings at work. "Can you get loose from work? You need to see this." <gulp> Drive over. Mice chewed the engine harness in several places. RIGHT AT THE CONNECTORS. The engine might have to be dropped. What saved me was my top had a plastic window and not the later year glass window. That let them push the roof in service position far enough forward to do it from the top...which is still a huge pain in the ass. I was fortunate they had some harnesses from blown race motors lying around and could cut connectors (and were willing) off those and splice them onto mine. Don't remember the final cost, but I think a couple grand. Could have been worse. Dealer would have insisted on harness replacement ($2800 part) which would have meant engine r&r (which I believe book time is something like 12-15 hours). So there you have it. I need to go make myself a drink after this.
