i talked to a nascar reporter yesterday and he said KBM goes away. Toyota foots most of the bill there as it’s their primary development funnel. This is why his interview about big changes was so heavy on him. Chevy gives very little to the truck teams.

I tend to think that’s the sad part on this story. Hopefully that talent gets picked up

I don't remember exactly, but I thought there was some sort of agreement with Dale Sr that Childress would keep the number if something happened to him and only a member of Childress' family or Earnhardt's could run it.

That could change with the right motivation. KBM started as a Chevy team when Busch purchased Billy Ballew Motorsports. For years Chevy hasn't had much of a development camp at all, instead relying on programs like Toyota who spend money developing more talent than they have seats for. KBM is a passion project for Busch.

I am pretty sure it was just that RC owned the #.

They did, it was just a joke. Maybe he could run the 00 like buckshot but they could make the # out of assholes.

Yeah, that’s a pretty strong contrast to what he said about it in 2001 when he said the number would never be on the track again, but who cares. He owns the number so he can do with it as he will and does. My opinion does not change however. Ol Richard seems to have “remembered” plenty of shit since Dale died and his company went to shit.

Kurt Busch has waived his Playoff eligibility, opening another spot in the playoffs. This means both Blaney & Truex will make it in.

hate to see it end that way but I believe there are a lot of factors involved. Kurt had a great career. Nothing left for him to prove. Onward on forward for 23XI

Doubtful. I don't think Rowdy Energy has as deep of pockets as Monster Energy.

Not even close. Kyle mentioned that in a recent interview. It makes a lot of money, but overall they aren't in the black yet and so going further into the red to pay himself isn't an option.
