I've done the Ducati, the BMW GS, and 2 other Lego motorcycles so far. Built the Jeep, the McClaren, Dodge Challenger and a top fuel dragster.

You need to jump on the Lego thread on here and see what some of those folks have built.

    There's a LEGO thread?!

I've done the S1000RR-R M whatever it's called. If I had the money and the space, I'd have a display cabinet full of Lego Technic stuff because I'm a child.

my thoughts exactly.... I've also been thinking about switching tires to something a bit better on some gravel. The pirelli scorpion rally str has been on my radar, I think it comes in the correct sizes. People seem to like it so I might try it when the oem tires are shot.

Yeah, those are the only ones I’ve been able to find that are available in the stock size. They will likely be my next tire as well. I’ve found some others that are the right diameter, but wider. From what I’ve heard though, that creates a clearance issue with the splash guard, and I’d rather not remove it just to fit a different tire when there’s the option of going with the Scorpion.

just a couple of things tbh
I’d love to tag this with all the other stuff that’s been going on with my bike but I don’t want to sift through it all atm… but I got my head back! And after talking to the shop the intake side had the worst of the hit the exhaust side had a small bend and it would have been fine buuut since I had new valves might as well put them in right? So they did all that work to cut the new valves into place and even polished and cleaned up my head for me!

yup i like them! donnels has been around since 1965 and they are all very knowledgeable and helpful with stuff so i spent a bit more time up there then i needed to talking to them about the head and how the proper procedure is to put it all back together and what else i should look for. they mentioned to look at the cam sprocket and i told em i wouldnt know if its good or not and they told me well bring it up and ill take a look for you! if its in good shape ill say no need for a new one if its worn out you can get a new one for like 50-60 bucks. they normally have lots of odd things in stock for dirtbikes and know how to do maintenance and tune them plus sell new!

I made a bonehead mistake of wiping some dust off the bike with a microfiber cloth while it was still warm and melted some microfiber on the exhaust. I’m usually not a fan of polishing or chrome but the melted microfiber pattern was visible and bothering me. I took some ammonia based polish and some scotchbrite and fixed it right up. Also got rid of the blueing in the process. Pictures are kind of confusing because I have partial heat shields on but the last picture is everything complete and reassembled.

what's the poll, on Hawaii island, big island, its not Oahu, Honolulu kind of place......you think the 500 exc tag would suffice for a quick commute here and there?? or more trouble than worth it?

I had a 200 in 2009, looking at the new 150xcw tpi. Maybe rip more than just to work but we only have 45mph speed limits......just some lights, mount the 500 tag up and try it?
