I’m not buying it. Pictures and videos can be doctored, fur can be dyed, and if that’s not enough, believers can be created instantly on the internet that would swear on their mother’s grave that they have evidence that it’s real.

We watched it too. Arthur sat on my lap the whole time watching the TV cats in fascination. Some good information.

This just made my night!

If you know you know! Impossible to sleep past 5 AM in this house

We have a 4th that lives at the parents house now, he's the OG Siamese that gave us the Siamese bug. We have also filled a few households with Siamese kittens because the barn cat that's the mom of the bottom two births a bunch every summer. We love passing on the joy :D

So we learned something that I thought I would share. If your cat gets really bad breath all of a sudden, he might have a respiratory infection. Arthur was acting a little off and had a runny eye last week. We started treating his eye with stuff the vet gave us the last time - he has this issue periodically, and it usually clears up after a few days using the eye ointment (steroid-antibiotic mix). This time it didn't work, and he was becoming less active and Arthur-like. The he coughed while on my lap, and boom! His breath was awful. We took him in the next day, and this plus the eye and a low fever made the diagnosis. Apparently when cats get upper respiratory infections they are often bacterial, unlike us where they almost always start with a virus. Bacteria start to grow within mucus, and when they cough up a loogie it smells putrid. In a human this would be a sign of bacterial pneumonia. Anyway, he's on day seven of an antibiotic and is back to normal, other than a sneeze here and there.

Bottom line - if your cat gets horrible breath out of the blue, it's time for the vet.

Does he get lots of outdoor time? Just curious if there's an outdoor connection?

Henry and Arthur were indoor cats until last year when my wife started taking them out into the yard on occasion. They are never left unattended, only go out in the daytime, wear collars, and if they leave the yard she brings them in. She's trying to train them to be patio cats like our old girl Ginger (RIP). I have my doubts regarding her chances for success...

They both have all of their shots and get regular flea prevention stuff. No idea where he caught it, or what it was, but the vet didn't seem to think that it was that remarkable. She called it a "kitty cold".

Give it time. I'd bet she'll be successful as well cared for family members tend to understand who butters their bread!

My boys are patio cats after years of no outdoors. They're really cool in that even if I go out in the front yard and let them out, they hang around me and pick spots to lounge. I absolutely love it. The backyard is fenced and the brothers are 13 and have some shitty genes, unfortunately. Both have messed up spines at their back legs. Gromit walks like his back legs are sort of fused. Wally has had CT scans and suffers similarly but has more movement but suffer some very significant pain, just like his old man that's had 3 back surgeries and looking at another. o_O Neither can come close to jumping a fence. They both use ladders to get on our bed.

Hoping your kitten has a full recovery and gets back to being himself!
