I have a gutter company coming out today(weather permitted) to install gutters all the way around the new house.

 

Good deal

We did that when we had the rock work done, guy bent them onsite.

Good Morning SA! Well, all the rain is going to be with you guys now. After our 0.1" yesterday morning in, the tap is off. Soon as I laid that sod, that was it for rain. That front is now on you, and we won't get nothing but spitz and sputz! All told, 0.7" in the two days, so at least I won't have to water tonight. At least the outlook is "wetter than normal".

Getting to feel a little curmudgeonly around here. My Samsung watch is back for "repair" for the 5th time, and is supposed to be refunded after three. Fighting with an Amazon vendor who advertised Polaris products, and subbed them for China stuff. (Polaris is mostly China parts, but I was looking for a specific thing), Then he tried to screw me over on the return to play the money hold. And woke up to an email from my Prescription Insurance that my order was on hold for "credit or price adjustment"; there's plenty of credit there, but it more than doubled in cost! Already at the famous donut hole, so it wasn't that. Send a mail asking why, and waiting for answer.

A couple of the companies tried to sell me leaf guards on thier quotes, lol.

I asked them to look around the house again, cause I might have missed the trees.

 

Haven't seen your new one. Leaf Guard is the only one built that way - everything else is add on stuff. Of course, I only got two years on mine before I cut our trees, but the wind gives me plenty of tests from neighboring tree debris.

 

Looks like 4 PM we should get hit. Looking forward to it.

Well I don't think I have pictures of the new tiny house, but I did take pictures of the yard last week, cause I can mow and weed trim in 30min or less, lol.

The gutters will help keep the stucco walls cleaner.

This house will never have flowerbeds or trees as long as I own it, F all that nonsense, and time of taking care of that crap, everyday is a Saturday, I like my freedom. Ideally I hope to sell this house in 5 years.

I started the process this week, reaching out to metal building companies for a barndo build at the farm. I don't have a lot choices, so vetting the right company is going to be a lot of effort.

Know what's you mean, a garden of any kind is a good amount of work, if it was up to me, I wouldn't want much either, especially after this year, everything pretty much died since I'm the only one who remembers to water, even though it's the wife that wants them . Don't get me wrong they give the house a nice curb appeal but does take a good amount of work every spring especially.

That's the problem, the so called American dream, own a home, the persona of a nice yard with beautiful landscaping...

The nice yard and landscaping allows you to spend money and all that wasted time keeping up with Kardashians, while most homeowners not buying native species, instead they are buying up all the invasive plants, grasses, bushes and trees from our local nurseries. The yard and landscaping offers nothing in return, and actually provides more harm to your kids, pets, critters and increase water usage/costs, overall more harm to the ecosystem in general.

Think twice before buy... plants/bushes/trees are they native? and think about the future maintenance requirements. Groceries are high now days, food security will become a major issue in the next 20 to 30years. Our government does not restrict foreign countries from buying up our farms here. Its disturbing to see a lot of the pecans farms here inTexas being bought up, over 1/3 of those nuts are going to China. Maybe consider planting something that provides a return, a fruit or nut tree. Maybe consider a Victory Garden in those flowerbeds to provide your family fruits and vegetables.
