    BEFORE...

    IMG_2244_2c822faff0964df4039378d2f1eaf26af31b5f17.jpg

AND AFTER... (if I make these changes)

    PaintConcept_54425d663f330bd9c1475b6a8150c3db8e05f149.jpg

So it's not the best concept drawing ever, but it definitely shows what it would look like when I'm done. I am thinking I will use Rust-O-leum's Spray-in Truck Bedliner which I have already used (tested) on my skid plates (which were previously beat up pretty good and which I like). I've consider something like Rhino Liner but like the color that the Rust-O-leum has better.

Again, I am looking for opinion and ideas, so feel free to comment without fear of reprisals! Thanks!

Note: buddy and I are building a new rear steel bumper which will also be black (again, with the rust-o-leum product mentioned earlier). This is why there is some erasing done in the modified picture where the quarter panel will be cut away.

    Lots.
If I was going to permanently alter the truck like that I would get it sprayed professionally color matched.

My vote would be just to paint the fenders

I think it looks good I kinda have the same scheme minus the liner protection on the doors and rear. Except mine is because I'm poor and got the base model.

I personally like the before picture better. I think black fenders make the wheel well look to big... looking at it from a distance all the black seems to run together making the tires look smaller.

I'd say go for it... and then add sliders as well... If you can do the fab work yourself, that would be even cheaper...

I always like doing the work myself, I always feel better and love stepping back and knowing I did it...

I feel like many 2nd gen owners aren't really ready to take chances with their trucks (this is understandable, they are relatively new). It would be nice to see a couple guys do something out of the ordinary. Go for it and let us know how it goes

Yup! Sliders are next! My buddy has been a welder for some years and has good connections. I can get the steel piping basically at cost or at least close to it. Whenever I see someones truck that has sliders/side-steps the way I like em I snag the picture so I can look back when I get there. I LOVE doing the work myself--that's where all the fun is!:D

Also, because I've been running it for quite some time without mudflaps (long story... truck ran them over in four wheel drive and ripped them off...) the paint has gotten beat up. Also, while parked at school someone pulling in next to me clipped my passenger side door and then nicely left without so much as a note of apology! So this would also give me the opportunity to use bondo and fill in the dents. I just want to protect the body work that's there, ya know? Eventually, I'd like to use that bed liner stuff on my ARB front bumper too... eventually...

Gee, thanks... Well IF I do it, it'll be after I finish with the new bumper and rear quarter panels so it might be a while. That, and I probably should wait for spring so that the weather is better. It's currently snowing off and on... But I really like the concept, so there's a good chance I will.
