Obviously this is a outdated map. Maybe 2000/2001.

My neighborhood drinks a majority of all beer sold in Racine county. 78D4543B-0B91-45E9-A7D9-91D528D84C3E.jpg

Some however also call it water.

I had some time and I'm avoiding doing work stuff so looked this up. That Amazon part might have the wrong description, parts.toyota.com showing the 0C050 doesn't fit a 4Runner: https://parts.toyota.com/p/62946729/69040-0c050.html

From what I'm seeing the part number might be 69040-42250. MSRP listed at $354.56 ouch.
    https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota_2...FT-FRONT-DOOR---LEFT/62945387/6904042250.html

Edit: Lewis Toyota of Topeka showing $245 and change, usually I go through them for best price. I'd double check the part fits by putting in your VIN before ordering though.

Hey there, any opinions on getting a cover for a longbed? Atm I do not have one, and I know I'll try to have my baby in the garage during winter nights but I am terrible at parking my baby still. Maybe I need to look at some sort of cover?

Sorry for random chatter , any thoughts appreciated.

Are you talking tonneau? Or, like a car cover?

I had a folding hard tonneau on my '15, and it was super handy. It wasn't 100% watertight, so I kept things in totes back there. I also fashioned a kayak rack for it. I believe it was a Gator EVO or something.

Also, random chatter is exactly what this thread is for! :)

No problems on random chatter. We usually have 2 or more threads going. I have the factory tri fold tonneau and am happy with it. I park outside year round and it's nice to keep the leaves and snow out. If you are looking for a soft cover to keep prying eyes out of the bed a coworker has the Tyger brand tonneau off of Amazon and likes it.

I am thinking tonneau cover. I keep going back and forth thinking about getting something, but I am such a novice at truck stuff. Thanks for bearing with me.

I will add that one thing that sold me on the Gator was that I could remove it (except for the side rails) without tools in a few minutes. This allowed me full use of the bed, whenever needed.

    Picture just for grins.

Edit:. I still miss this truck sometimes, especially when I look at pictures of it. I still prefer the 4Runner, but having both would be nice. :)

I've had both a hardshell tonneau and a topper (currently). When I purchased the truck, in order to park on the street in the city, you have to have a covered/enclosed bed; otherwise, ticket city. Parking in the garage was not an option.

The tonneau was okay for a bit but became annoying when I wanted to use the bed or go camping with my RTT. The topper has been great and if I ever need to haul anything substantial, I just rent or borrow a trailer (few and far between).

I've toyed around with a bed rack setup with the RTT mounted for the summer to be ready for camping at any time, store the topper and then put the topper back on during the winter.

Something to cover a 3rd gen longbed you say? Craigslist and Facebook marketplace are both good sources for de-funding your bank account.

    https://madison.craigslist.org/pts/d/madison-leer-topper-toyota-tacoma-long/7522300764.html
    https://madison.craigslist.org/pts/d/dodgeville-fiberglass-topper-off-2017/7516409716.html
    https://northernwi.craigslist.org/pts/d/tomahawk-tonneau-cover-toyota-tacoma/7507553435.html

Links above are all for camper shells because oddly there are lots of those right now for longbeds and not many tonneaus. I saw lots of fun things for shortbeds too but that's when I realized I need to close the windows before I start spending money again.

As for what to get you have a few options: camper shell (full height of cab), hard fiberglass/resin cover (bed height), either a hard/soft/retractable tonneau, if you are fancy something like a Diamondback hard cover, or a softopper. Which is best? Nobody can answer because it depends on what you are intending to do with it.

Some things to consider: Do you want to store things in the bed that need to stay out of the elements? Things that need to not get stolen? Do you frequently load big things in the bed where having a cover would be a pain to remove? Price? And so on. My advice is start daydreaming about the options but don't rush to buy something until you know how you plan to use it. Buy once, cry once.

i have the Tyger tri-fold soft tonneau. It comes off in a few minutes, light weight, and will fit in a hall closet for storage. I bought mine in Facebook marketplace several years ago and held up well. Is it going to keep stuff safe? No! Someone can cut it open. So far I haven’t had a issue .

I bought it for my 2017
    92342B67-A3CC-4B87-9AC0-634D4BD8E1B5.jpg

I sold that truck and now it’s on my 2021. It’s held up great in almost 5 years of high speed, freezing rain, and heavy snow. Not to mention sun! It sits outside!!!

A5B0BC7C-EE6D-42D6-8AB5-068C8C77C3E6.jpg 1/3 stays secured and the rest can open or be left open for hauling .

    Looks decent!

I have a soft roll-up truxedo sport cover on my ACLB and it's fantastic. Rolls up pretty tight too so the bed is sti very useful. And it's more waterproof than the factory tri fold :D

I just put a new Lomax Stance cover on my long bed a few weeks ago. I love it. Folds up all the way to the back of the cab so you have full bed access.

If you are buying new (not off Craigslist or FB) and have picked out what you want, shoot a DM over to @truckalter who sets up forum members with great deals. Super customer service and quick shipping.

Is it even possible to buy individual parts? Most things these days only come as assemblies.
