    Hey y’all

so my trucks right front wheel inverted in.

I took a look and it looks like a bolt broke in half and got stuck deep in I believe the steering knuckle.

    questions :

    How hard is this fix?
Should I get a new knuckle or am I totally wrong ?

Any advice would be appreciated thank you

If you can extract the broken bolt, might get lucky and not need a replacement knuckle. It will be a real pia to get that out successfully though.

I'd replace both of those lower bolts with OEM from the dealer.

Damn, those are some big bolts.

    Extractor bits are your friend.

Worst case you could tack weld something to wrench it off with.

A trip to Lowes or Home Depot is in order.

Not skills required, just luck and perseverance.

Get an extract set; make sure you wear safety glasses when working underneath your truck. You don't want to get crud, or worst yet, metal bits in your eyes.

If it bit into the bolt, good.

Wrench it out. It should be left handed to grab yet unscrew fron your spindle.

You're going to round it off with that.

Use whatever drill or socket that you initially used, and use it to remove it.

    I’m in Oakland

I don’t understand how to use the drill to remove it.

I created the whole through the broken bolt.. with the drill

put the extractor in with a lil hammer action…

trying to turn it counter clockwise.

    No luck yet.

The extractor is not turning. And I also been wd 40 crazy on it

20220824_155806.jpg PB Blaster and go cool off this thing isnt going to come out easy the longer you can leave PB Blaster or even Fluid Film on it the better to. If ya have a hammer some nice taps around the bolt housing can help. I just got thru fight these bolts on my 1999 an leverage was my best friend. Yes I know this wont exactly help because you cant get a socket on that extractor but my wrench would not budge them I had to buy this 2 foot long piece of pipe and literally use both feet to apply smooth constant pressure and started hearing a creaking then loose your gonna need some similar Id say

You're supposed to use a socket on a socket wrench or impact set to "remove" and send it.

That'll both drive the bit deeper into the broken bolt as well as unscrew the remainder.

Unless the bit you used is too large and you accidently bit into the hole in your spindle?

Oh nice that's a decent size hole.

Worst case you drill all the way through the bolt, but really right now your best case is using the extractor and turning it as suggested above.

2wd =less stuff to take off, pull the wheel, caliper, tre, and 4 bolts on upper b-joint and take it to a welding shop with a 3/4" nut. Just put the nut in some acid or vinnegar to clean up the galvanized on it. Should only take 10 mins to get that out.
