    That's cool you had such a mix. Really wish I could have made it.

    I think I know exactly which portion you're talking about. I end up sliding down it all the time haha. Used to freak me out, but I've gotten used to it.

    Your tires sure look awesome. Glad they performed for you. Had to be quite the step up from your all terrains. I gotta think about getting new tires. My superswampers are down to the wear bars.

    haha not a bad alternative. I should be hitting the books Saturday...

    Mike, just to let you know I still think you did a great job. The intent of the meet was just to kinda go out and play around and with the information we had at the time... well we did what we could. I suppose the few of us concerned about starting that trail shoulda stuck to the guns a bit more but it's part of the experience in learning. Any day everyone gets to drive home with no injuries is a GREAT day of wheeling no matter how things go down. One CV axle boot cover that broke open... for the level experience we had and recoveries going on that's an amazingly low amount of damage. Any time someone takes a rig out you have to be prepared damage may/will eventually occur so... just part of the game.

    It was great to see all the various recovery work in action first hand and to be a part of that. A lot of our recoveries in the desert involve little more than shackles and straps (aka what's in my truck lol). I defiantly got a great taste of how invaluable a winch with the right equipment is on a trail now, along with just things like shovel, chains, rug... it's all great stuff to put into a wheel'n kit.

    Also yea, when we did the Box Canyon run for AZT4WDA I sorta got into your position as well... and fortunately part of the AZFJ group was there that knew the place like the back of their hand.... almost went down exactly the same haha. So yea man, don't feel down about it, was a great learning experience and a great time!

    Also David, you got some great shots too! I'm glad you got a shot of the tree saver in action... I thought I got one with the Nikon but apparently I didn't haha.

    Also as always if anyone wants to go for a run on a Saturday with something lower/local or something (maybe around the Dalles has some dryer stuff? I dunno) I'm down!

    Thanks for the support Jake, it means a lot!

    I don't have a suggestion on where you could go, really. Barlow Toll Road and that area is flatter from what I've seen, but has much more snow. Goat Mountain can be very steep and slick depending on conditions. Crooked Finger would be probably good for snow, but I bet the difficulty would be the slick roads getting there. Sorry!

    I'm having trouble describing the difference because everything comes out as a guttural yell and I want to headbutt a goat. I'm totally sold on these Maxxis Bighorns. Road noise is surprisingly quiet as well, I just get a slight hum.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Mike, perhaps next time we set up a run at TSF we can have a discussion of which trails people would like to explore? And I agree with the idea someone posted earlier (or maybe on the schedule thread?) that we should break into comfort/experience level groups and take 4-5 rigs at a time rather than the entire group? It was great to meet everyone and always awesome to roll 11 deep with fellow enthusiasts. But, trail riding is best done in smaller groups IMO.

    I'm also always down for some good food and truck talk. :drunk:

    Well, once we got there bill and I had an ongoing talk of where to go. Cedar Tree is one of the most accessible trails, and as you can see even it was going to be too much. Once there's less snow it will be easy to choose.

    I figured. The snow definitely screwed up all plans. Just an idea for future! :)

    I have pics of it from last Friday in the last post of my build thread (link in my sig). Its 30-40ish minutes outside Philomath. I'm going with some guys Friday evening. A couple tacos with all terrains made it up last time, so you should be good. We pretty much all got stuck at some point, but a bunch of guys pushing is all it took to get people moving again. Its somewhere to go for snow and a view, but there aren't any trails like Browns and I absolutely love technical trails with snow.

    Not tonight, but later this week.

    90% chance of snow in Beaverton, Corvallis on Thursday,so expect the chances and amounts to be greater higher up. They say only 1-3 inches in valley
