I went down the KTJO rabbit hole and then reached out directly via IG before I bought my handle. It looks like they had problems fulfilling orders early on and additional problems such as missing parts. However, lately, I've seen people posting no issues so I ordered on and you can read my experience and install notes here..

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.
    **PICTURE HEAVY**

Finally completed my own personal side quest of completely blacking out the exterior on the truck(with the exception of fog lights, but I have some Baja designs on the way right now), and I have to say, it makes the truck look just that much better. I wasn't expecting the difference to be that drastic, but I am very happy with how it ended up turning out. a long year and a half (would've been quicker, but life gets in the way, and I am way too picky with what I put on the truck, so it took a long ass time to get exactly everything I wanted)IMG_5863 4.HEIC.jpgIMG_5866 4.HEIC.jpg IMG_5868 4.HEIC.jpgIMG_5870 4.HEIC.jpg IMG_5903 2.HEIC.jpgIMG_5907 2.HEIC.jpgIMG_5914 2.HEIC.jpg

No. That camera button (View) is the OEM camera button for the Pros and I think the OR with the technology package has it too. Either way, there are 2 main buttons on Tacomas generally speaking. You have short buttons and tall buttons. You will usually see a reference on sites that make aftermarket buttons for 3rd gens to this.

What you see in my finished picture is all short buttons except for obviously the Auxbeam and cargo light switch, none are tall. So when you order buttons or switch plates, you need to know what you want (short or tall). So if your vendor is using the terms short or tall for a 3rd Gen Toyota, it will most likely snap right in or if it’s a switch plate they will usually use those terms too and it should just work.

What I had to trim a little was the dash inner edges because the switch plate didn’t quite snap in (slightly too big) when I replaced the OEM drivers side left switch plate. What I really had to trim was some dash mount stuff that was behind the switch plates where I decided to put that View camera button. It was blocking the switch from going in. It wasn’t the plate or the button, it was what was behind it. You can see it in 2 of the pics, 1 showing it blocking the hole and the other showing what it looked like behind the switch panel.

The switch plate was from guildoutfitters.com and specifically for my need was “Base Switch Panel for 4 Short Switches (Tacoma Double Cab)”. It was 149.99 +10 for shipping. It ain’t cheap but I got what I wanted when I wanted it lol

Ahhh, OK I see what you’re talking about. What he did to get that button in, was he removed the entire panel that also has the switch panel in it. You don’t have to remove that large panel to replace a button, just the switch panel and you can do with trim tools easily. I think why he did it that way was to give him more room for soldering and splicing. Your mileage may vary depending what you are doing for wiring.

thanks dude I have the standard cubby (see attached picture).

I have a Meso custom cubby I haven’t installed yet. I will probably install it once my Meso puddle pod light switch I just ordered comes in since the switch Meso includes won’t fit in my current set up (The blank is a skinny and the switch Meso includes is a regular like the 400W switch in the pic). So trim tool to remove the current set up is what is shall do. Also anyone with a puddle pod switch have a spot they grounded to?

For those of you who have moved switches from the center to the left switch area, how difficult was it? I’ve got some stuff on order and will be doing it soon.

It really makes a difference in my opinion. Especially here in Florida with the damn sun blazing all day long.

There should be a ground screw near the under dash fuse block, at least there is on mine.

    Oh look, another mod....
I live in Texas, where the Summers are 6 - 8 months long and during that time, we get 16hrs of sunlight. That lens cap makes a huge difference in the daytime quality of the videos.
