I still need to sort through the stuff I took, hopefully this weekend. Also not sure you want me uploading the videos as those will be very large files.

Looks like y'all had fun, wish I could have made it. I like the one of OldSchool diving into the mud hole and that shiny new blue one going through the puddles. Good to see the 80 got it's Bro Rock stamp and that Assman & SuperLo conquered that one section. Who is cosplaying as drunken Machete with that whole arsenal laying around? Also there are two black 2nd gen trail limos now?!

Yeah, but that space ain't free. I pay $2.99 a month for 200GB and I'm using over half of that now. Next step up is $9.99 a month for 2TB. You guys are fun and all, but if I go there, I might have to cash in on a beer here and there.

@Camerasandcoffee let me know about how much space you're talking about. I don't mind hosting temporarily, and then maybe transferring to a gallery here on the forums. Is there such a thing as a group or shared gallery here? Can videos be uploaded?

Spent some several hours today banging around in the Penokee's looking for routes for the coming TWAT visit. Had a loop that looked promising on the map and needed to get back and confirm its worth with a chainsaw. Got there today, got the tree out of the way and got bogged down about two truck lengths beyond it...

    P3.jpg

    P1.jpg

Couldn't quite make it through this. Stacked some rocks and spent the better part of 40 minuets trying. Very, uncomfortably of camber. Ended up with a door in the bank-no damage thanks to the slider, but it will require some polish. Lockers would have made the difference; this is doable with 4 turning. I could also have easily winched out, but because I wanted to share this with the group and most don't have lockers I didn't think it was good for the entire group who might want their truck undamaged. I will go back later when I have a buddy with me and see whats above...

Did find a nice scenic loop to get from Mnt Whittlesey to the Beaver Lake CG (or just back into the Penokee's west of hwy 77.)

    P4.jpg

    P5.jpg

Did the Whittlesey loop again... it is seriously fun! can't wait to share with you guys. Rocks, climbs and 4Lo! Oh... mine ruins and a fire tower too!!!

I am going to create a map for you guys-I do not mind sharing! May take a while... was hoping to get some one on one time with @wi_taco on how to use one of the other map platforms (I use Google Maps...) Hopefully you can come that weekend and experience them. If you need a tag before I get this put together, I can get them to you via PM. To actually answer your question... these places are west of Mellon WI, south of Ashland WI. Mnt Whittlesey is southeast of Mellon-7th highest point in Wisconsin.

You could create a group PM and share the map there. I am definitely intrigued and looking forward to this trip! I really do appreciate all of the leg work you are doing!

Message me anytime, I’ll do what I can to help! Not going to claim I’m the top expert but think I can hold my own.

Gaia GPS and onXmaps subscriptions are the most popular but of course not the only options. Personally my go-to is Gaia because I use it far more for hiking but that’s just my preference.

I was actually going to upgrade my iPad tomorrow and trade in my old one. If you’re interested in an iPad Mini 4 to help extend your map game let me know and I’ll hold it back. I think they’re only giving me like $90 for trade so you can have it for the same or best offer. If not no big deal the phone is fine too just easier to see things with more screen real estate.

Thanks Adam. I will pass for now-have two at home already... I start back to school next week, so once things calm down I will get back to you and sort it out. Shouldn't take to long is my guess.

We were going to try to have it coincide with the Apple festival, so October 7-9.

Yes. People will probably arrive throughout the day on Friday, so I thought we'd try to go to the festival on Friday afternoon/evening. Exploring Saturday, and hang out at camp Saturday evening. Probably pack up Sunday after coffee/breakfast.

I looked at the camp site over in the Barrens that I think you used last time-Birch Grove. It has a water issue; however, it is the best spot for Friday night in my opinion. I can bring 20+ gallons of potable water for all to use.

Saturday morning I have us doing a figure eight loop in the Barrons and then heading south. Sand, scenic vistas, mud holes and a fire tower! We can do a packed lunch, or find a pub along the way. I am not sure about the Delta Diner as to whether it will be open-they have kept strange hours in the past and this is past prime summertime for most places up here. I will check into it if everyone wants to stop as we can make it on the way. The exciting run is in the afternoon in the Penokee's. Mine ruins, rocks and a fire tower! I would suggest camping Saturday night at Beaver Lake CG as it will save an hour+ of driving. These are the coordinates: 46.30157, -90.89565 This makes for an easy egress Sunday morning as well. I like changing up sleeping places but I will leave it up to the collective to decide if this makes sense.
