You're making my day off to take wife's Elantra to the dealership for maintenance and get shuttled home to do laundry, a fun day so far! (Wife said, since you're home, can you do a load of laundry?)

Welcome to world of remarkable technology. lol

I also just got a text from the dealership that recommends the following:

    Wiper Blades
Rear Drun Brake clean/adjust (This Elantra has rear drums)
    Tire Balance
    4-Wheel Alignment
    EFI Service (Fuel Injection Clean)
    Cabin Air Replacement

    Just my 2c.

    Wiper Blades
I have a Kia and some wiper blades are just not available as a generic size that you can purchase at a automotive parts store.
Rear Drum Brake clean/adjust (This Elantra has rear drums)/ Tire Balance
Do the tires show any uneven wear? Do you rotate periodically already?
    4-Wheel Alignment
    Same questions as above.
    EFI Service (Fuel Injection Clean)
I use a product called Seafoam about 1x per year. I put 25% in the oil a few weeks before an oil change and the rest in the fuel tank. This has worked for me so far.
    Cabin Air Replacement
This you can order online and do yourself I'm sure.

    Yes, I can.

I'm choosing to let the dealership we bought her car from take care of it.

The Service Rep was there when we bought wife's car so we have rapport. She's always assisted with rebates and other nice complimentary things.

Plus, my wife's paying for this...since it's her car.

I do the oil changes on Dover AFB Auto Hobby Shop and rotate tires.

Wife drives wayyyy differently than I do.

It's a 2017 Elantra and she barely has 36K miles on it.

Going to get a lot of life out of that Elantra. My Kia Forte5 SX has 115000klms on it already. It gets used a lot since fuel consumption is 2/3 of what the Taco uses.

That little 2017 Elantra's 2.0L engine is robust compared to the 2004 Elantra we traded in when we bought it.

It's got bluetooth, AppleCarPlay, sunroof (never leaked), dual climate control, heated seats, driver power seat...Eco and Sport driving modes.

She originally wanted a Civic but a comparable one didn't even come with sunroof or power seat.

    I love driving her car!

To keep with the Thread Topic...my next install are the Bushwacker Fender Flares.

Yesterday I upgraded my front door and dash speakers. Wow! What a difference!

I used Kicker DSC69304 in the front doors. They are a budget friendly speaker that sounds amazingly good to me. Vast improvement over stock to say the least.

In the dash I used Kicker KSC270’s. They’re a 2 3/4” midrange speaker. Again, amazing sound from them. I had to solder in a capacitor to block out the bass which was pretty easy.

Installation for both was really easy, the dash speakers especially.

I bought both sets from Crutchfield. I only paid $110 for all four because I bought what they call “chip and dent” and I opted for the slow shipping which saved another $10. I could see neither a chip nor a dent in anything.

For the price this is a no-brainer upgrade. This is how the stock stereo should sound.

Next I plan on installing the Rockville SS8P powered subwoofer for only $100. I plan on tapping into the rear speaker wiring to do this. Anyone with any direct experience on this?

If you are still searching, I recommend the kicker hs10 powered sub! I'm running it with stock tweets and door speakers and it sounds awesome! I could imagine how it would sound with your setup!
Either way, tap/splice the powered sub into the front door speakers... that's where you'll get the best bass from!

I stuffed it up in there late yesterday and was waiting to take my daughter to her hair appointment to try it out but her mom got home and took her so I didn’t to see. I will find out today though. I did drive around with the drivers back seat out and it sounded like I had a window down.

Made wheel carriers for the bed to carry to bicycle races. Using spring nuts (needed to be cut and ground to be approx 1" wide) and some excess oak I had. For the 15mm front I used Smallrig threaded tubes/rods (aluminum tubes with threads in the inside used in the camera industry) and then built my own handle and threaded studs. For the QR, is used double metric t nuts mounted back to back inside the piece that sits on the rails. Works well and now the back up wheel sets are not bungeed to the side or sliding around in the back.
TMCmakes member sells a wheel mount at the thread below, so if you are not inclined to make you own you can buy his which are made from machined aluminum and very nice also specific to different hubs with spacers. I made mine for specific wheel sets that I own (e.g. QR).

Sounds like a typical list of work a commission driven service advisor would recommend.

In preparation of a couple camping trips I created a little propane mount for the bed, did my best to re seal the Softopper, and then washed the bed for the first time D002E83E-2C4F-4D2C-9FDF-CBE072E61169.jpg 3622751C-AE6F-4F7A-BD1E-0DEE1D35B718.jpg B0585A47-EC9C-4572-BD21-8642D3BF9C05.jpg
