Film of what seems like oil on the lower part of the inside of the front windshield

2021 TRD OR with 12,000 miles.

There is a film of what seems like oil on the lower part of the inside of the front windshield.

Any ideas what may be causing it?

 

Are you using your defroster after spraying a cleaner on the dash near the vents?

 

You may want to post a picture.

 

When I use cleaner on the dash it is VERY lightly so I get minimal over spray.
I try to stay away from the vents but I guess that could be the issue.

 

Armor All over spray probably from detailer before you bought it.

 

Buildup or offgassing

 

It’s from the offgassing plastics. Get a window squeegee, a gallon of water and a few drops of dawn. Make a mixture then use a microfiber to wipe the windshield and use the squeegee to remove the excess before it dries and you’ll have crystal clear windows

 

Oh boy, anti freeze. LOL

 

Don't spray the dash with anything man. Spray a rag and wipe it on.
I only use water and guess what .. it looks fine.

 

So much new plastic in a vehicle off gassing. Windows get crazy dirty for no apparent reason. My truck smells so bad for the longest time with a nasty new plastic smell. Now that I’ve got my stench in there it’s ok.
