It’s a good idea to become familiar with how to find information on national forest websites and calling the local ranger stations to confirm information when needed. It’s the one and only source of information that you need to protect yourself from fines and protect the forests that we all love and use!

Was just at Sawmill lake for a week.
US Forestry Fireman came walking through my camp Sunday morning.
They were out checking if anyone's having fires or BBQn with charcoal.

Part of my passenger side front tab got smacked by a tossed up ball. Wish I would have welded behind the tabs. Actually wish I had a welder and could weld. Need to find a place in or around Sac to fix mine and weld behind the tabs.

Glad to hear this. We were up there not too long ago and people had some big ass fires going. I get the appeal, but I've come across too many fires that weren't properly put out to trust people anymore.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

We've gotten to the point where regardless of fire restrictions, we always carry our propane fire pit and use that.

I don't even like camp fires any more. They just make me nervous.

There are a lot of sparks and embers that come off a campfire and they drift. And realistically, most don't or can't carry enough water to adequately drown a fire. So unless I'm near a ready source of water, probably not going to have a campfire.

The group we are goingng with have talked about getting a trail welder. I don't think we have actually gotten one yet. That's a good question.

We alway carry a stick welder that runs off car batteries in series. Has limped us off the trail or helped other limp off the trail more than enough times to make it worth it. You can be a long ways from anything on the Dusy.

There’s always this method in a pinch. Just carry the shielded welding rod.

First video on google: basic concept.

make sure it's 6011 rod and not 7018.
7018 goes bad if not stored properly long term
