Haha the heavens opened up for about 90 minutes there. Highway flooded and shut down. Thank God I don't have a commute. Banana land on a good day down here.

I was watching some of that on My Radar. The heaviest stuff dissipated before it got up my way. Still some decent lightning going on as I type, but the rain has stopped. Too bad, we could use a few inches of rain.

It was a good time, we all had fun. My wife got her sun flowers and her photos in the field holding her sun flowers, I shouldn't have drove home... I had a few to many wine slushies and a few beers too. My friends had a good time too, except one of them drove his mustang and bottomed out on a dirt road so we had to push him out of a large rut, poor Ford owners think their vehicles are the greatest. Not !

I have to disagree on this one.....they make a great rack but overpriced as all hell.
Victory roof rack for the win.

They're all uprights with 8020 extrusion cross bars. I know Cali raised (and maybe others) has a Flippy front flap thing to block light bars from road debris, sun damage etc that folds down when you want to use it.

But otherwise they're pretty much all the same. Grab whichever is cheapest and fits your needs.

I keep forgetting the price popped up since I got mine.
It is great no doubt, but you’re right on the price, damn high.
Honestly Victory is good, would have been my next choice.

    enough to have fun
    Hey guys!

So about a month ago I started a new job and my wife and I were looking to move to the southern NH area.

Any experience, tips, recommendations on where to look?

We’ve been to the following towns:

    chester
    Manchester
    Merrimack
    Nashua
    Derry
    Londonderry
    Lee
    Salem
    Kingston
    Plaistow
    Exeter
    Dover
    Hampton
    Seabrook
    Windham

I'm on the otherside of the border from where you're looking but real close. My wife works in Merrimack. Good and bad neighborhoods in any town. All nicer than Philly! Glad to have you up this way.

    *Cracks knuckles* here we go.

Windham. Hoity toity. Great schools but not worth it without kids. Very expensive.

Salem. Chaos. On the border of mass and a TON of development with the Tuscan kitchen shenanigans at the old race track. Schools are decent. Has the vocational center for the area. Pricy, busy, loud. Canobie lake park in the summer, 28 is a shit show, they're working on 97/28 jct now which was always a disaster so for the next year or so I bet, will continue to be. The mall WAS a thing but it's kind of losing it. I bet within 5 years they kill off a wing of the mall, make it condos on one side and make it into like a futuristic utopia of living. I give it 10 years before the look to send a commuter rail line to Salem. Maybe via Haverhill. Not sure. Anyway off on a tangent. Salem's great but chaos. I wouldn't, but that's just me.

Manchester. No. Just. No. Great to visit for lunch or dinner or a show. Living. Nah.

Hampton, Seabrook - beach towns. Utter chaos in the summers. I grew up in a beach town (and Salem which explains my diatribe above). Off season beach towns are LONELY and DEPRESSING places. Seabrook is a lot better than Hampton with a lot more year round/owner occupied residences. But still way into beach town territory.

Where is your job? If you're working north of Manchester I wouldn't say to pick Salem. If you're working down in mass I wouldn't say to pick north of Manchester. Etc.

Kingston, plaistow, Hampstead, sandown, are all really nice towns but they're very un-downtown. If that makes sense. Where as Manchester has a place you could walk to and from work, grocery etc. Bikes could get you around a lot of Salem's "downtown" type of thing. Those towns don't have that.

    Great post.
City mouse vs. country mouse is a thing.

"Most" towns in NH aren't city mouse things, but a few are.

Where you work is also really a big deal (or where she works) (assuming that there is an office involved).
Manchester might be "an hour" from Boston, but not at the time you need to get to / from work (most likely).
