    I’m saying it doesn’t use a starship to get to the moon because it IS a starship. It will be launched on a super heavy, refueled in earth orbit, then sent to dock with Orion in lunar orbit for crew transfer, descent to the surface, return to orbit for crew transfer back to Orion. Ultimately, when the Gateway station is online transfers may happen there or when starship/hls is crew launch certified it may launch from earth already crewed, dunno on that one. It would be handy to have tanker versions both in Leo and gateway orbits until and even after we can generate methane on the moon.

    Not quite.

    Orion gets to NRHO, meets with gateway/HLS. Crew gets on HLS, does stuff, comes back up to gateway, gets back to Orion, and goes back to earth.
