I think it’s originally for a small water heater? I cut it down, bent it open more, and cut a spot for the strap to go through

I went the other way, left side to center console but it's essentially the same. Fairly easy if you have a harness already. I used the harness here https://kabowest.com/#63fd0797-1577-4130-931a-b0f01527435d. I forget who runs the shop, but he's on the forums here. Just pop out the climate controls and go in from the top to pop out your switch. I wouldn't really recommend trying to remove the plate holding all the center switches in because it requires a lot of the dash being removed. You can reach in from above and pop it out. Then attach the harness and move it to where you want.

Thanks. I’ll look into it. I have an access cab so I don’t have the room behind the rear seats like the double cabs do. I have to put my sub under one of the front seats. I figured tapping into the rear speaker wires would be the easiest. I know that they are under powered that’s why I was going with the amp/sub combo, in a small foot print.

Bought off Amazon a while back, I think its originally meant to hold a small hot water tank. I cut it and made it work for the propane tank

Ahh, yes, I did this a few weeks ago. It was pretty easy to do. I tied a rope to one end of the pool noodle. Fed it up through the drivers side about six inches at a time and pulled it with the rope from the passengers side. By the time I had it perfectly in place the noodle broke where I had the rope tied to it. Ended up being a perfect placement. I did before and after db measurements at 70 mph on the freeway. It was good for about 3 or 4 db’s but it felt like a lot more. I’ve also sound deadened my roof, doors and back wall with Noico type stuff and Frost King duct insulation. All in I’d say it’s a huge improvement over stock. Now, the main source of noise on the freeway is wind against the side mirrors and A pillars. I’ll do my floors in the next couple of weeks and see how that works out.

Just curious, what was the dB range at 70 mph now? What sound meter did you use?

I'd recommend tapping into the front speakers instead. Rear speakers have practically no signal running to them, you'd be cranking the gain way up to compensate.

Not sure if the RF sub has a built in line converter (for high-level input, aka speaker line tap) but if not, get one. I might recommend that anyway since it's so much easier to feed one stereo RCA cable instead of two speaker wires across the cab.
