Favorite Whiskey?

One of the grocery stores around me (we have a metric crap ton of groceries close to us) that closed for renovations just reopened. They styled it like a Whole Foods, even have a dry ages beef cabinet at the butcher counter ($35/lb for steak). This was a run of the mill mid-range grocery, less expensive than Safeway but nicer than Grocery Outlet. But now the prices are all over the map... Some crazy high, however, some seemed very reasonable;

So I burnt through the Buffalo Trace, which I really enjoyed, and went searching for replacements.



My dad was talking about the Yellowstone Bourbon which peaked my interest, naturally I picked it up.

The High West Campfire I’ve been looking to pick up for awhile now. I really like the Balconnes Brimstone because of the smokiness it has, and I’ve read that this High West has a lot of the same smoke qualities. I could only find two stores near me that sold it, with one of them only having a 375ml left. I guess I’ll just have to cherish it in moderation.

Here’s mine. The family drove up to a water park 3.5 hours away on the outer banks, I checked out a handful of ABC stores on the way back. They were all pitiful. Terrible selection.

Stopped at one of the local joints near the house, and scored. Funny how that happens.

 

special day, BIL and family stopped by coming back from Yellowstone. Had some good pours tonight.

 

Toasted of toasted. Always grateful.

Before you turn your nose up, consider this. The price will be, oh who knows, somewhere between $100 and $200.

The bottle will then be worth upwards of $1500 as you walk away with it. I’m talking about the OF birthday bottle, haven’t researched the 4 Roses.

 

Fine but I'd want to drink it.
