Last Sunday's carnage. I know this bar is designed to flex at the crossbar, but still crazy to have this happen. Overshot a double and landed into the face of the next - had to pitch the bike and take a slapper - left side of the bars took the brunt of it. Get to tinker around on the bike today on my day off.

Holy crap, dude. Glad you are ok. Hopefully the bike isn't too bad otherwise.

Discovered during teardown that the Fastaway bar mount I installed not even 3 months ago is also mangled a bit. Twisted up just like the weak OEM mounts unfortunately. Now I'm at a stopping point until a new mount arrives. Frustrating. These modern bikes are still pretty darn tough, though.

Actually shocked that the Fastway mount bent. I know the late model stockers are prone to twist. But all in all not too bad. I know last time I had a pretty big crash (was on my Husky) I scraped up/dented my 4.1 Ti muffler and was pretty mad about it. Didn't bend enough to replace (just a slight dent) but I hated seeing it all scraped up and the blue finish ground down. That and new plastic and I was good to go. Hopefully new mount and bar, maybe some controls and it's all good for you.

That's a pretty good slap. My forearms tingle looking at that.

Swoll. Where ya been, bud? Excited to see your name again.

    Jo lookin good.

Jett... See ya in the big leagues:rockband:

Question to all ( so ~3 people in this thread that care about Outdoors ). Pulp (Steve Matthes) has started the rumor mill of Chase moving away from HRC in 2023 (specifically to KTM/Decoster) due to Jett bumping up. Thoughts?

Wouldn't make sense for Chase to switch, considering he appears to love the Honda. He is a smooth a butter on that bike. I think it would be a big mistake for Jett to move up next year, I guess we'll see when he rides the MXDN on the big bore. I just think he would have a couple of seasons of learning the power all while maturing as a rider. Hunter would be my pick to move up.

I believe Ken Roczen has seen his last year on Honda.

Definitely not a Matthes fan, but the man is right most of the time.

It took chase how long to get that 450 dialed in. Be wild for him to move. But I think it's just learning how the 450 works. Is the 23 a redesigned bike?

I can imagine some contract shake up happening this year again.

I think HRC is already putting their eggs in the Lawrence family basket....Sexton, even if he wins this championship, will become the B rider I believe. I wonder where he will fit in at KTM as Webbs replacement on the rider tier?

More than Matthes are reporting this rumor, so it appears to have some legs. Just to be clear, Chase is signed through '23 so it would actually have to be for the '24 season if he moves to KTM. I believe that he will. I just don't see HRC being able to have Jett and Chase under the same tent. It's basically 2 number 1's. So not only is that a lot of money it's tough sometimes to have 2 top dog's. Just my opinion. Plus, I think KTM is really struggling to land a young top rider since their roster is going to be basically all new in '24 (everyone under contract is up.) So I think they go at him hard and make sure they get him. Just my opinion, I have no inside knowledge.

I misrepresented the timing in my post unintentionally, but correct that Chase is HRC through 2023. My head assumed that means his last HRC endeavor will be Outdoors 2023, since Super usually starts up in January of the next year.
I think the move (out of HRC) makes sense if/when it does happen. We can't have the two fastest guys in the class competing with one another on the same bike. That said, I feel like Chase will have the world in his hands as far as bike to choose. I think the comments / argument for the move to KTM can be made for virtually every other Factory besides HRC when considering the time line. Even Yamaha.

Ironman lived up to the hype this weekend!

1pnt going into Fox for Chase and Eli!

I don't think the turn in moto 1 by Chase was an issue at all. Didn't alter the race imo.

AP on the box, JA21 with a hard charge back in moto 1, the broke Husky boys both cracked the top 10.

Tough go for a lot of the 250 guys aside from the Aussies and Jo. Nice to see Thrasher up there again. Haiden Deeg looked good Moto 1 until the bike issue and nasty crash. Not sure what happened to Towers in either moto.

Good race for sure. Eli and Chase is a battle for the ages. Nice to see AP have a nice ride. he always does well there, it seems. In 250s, I was a little disappointed in how Cooper rode. I was hoping to see him get a win, especially after absolutely flying in qualifying. Maybe this weekend. Kitchen supposedly had his injury bothering him still. Maybe he came back too early. Towers hurt his leg in moto 1. The Deegan crash was pretty wild. Some people are thinking the bike locked, but it did not. He just didn't have the drive to pop over that jump and clipped the rear hard. The bike smoked after cartwheeling. So likely smashed a radiator. Just going to be a learning experience for Deegan. Supposedly he will not do Pro SX this year and will do SX Futures and then start full-time pro at the start of Nationals next year. Then do regular pro SX in '24.

I liked that racing. 450s are fun to watch. Going to be hot next weekend for pala .

the 250s are all over the place. Think coop is still sick. Seemed like he was slowing down at the end. That Spanish fill in guy did really well. Nice seeing the amateur guys out there getting some experience.

Deeg took a pretty bad strike to the back of the head on that crash, too. Respect to him for bouncing back and running it again for Moto 2. Wasn't the weekend he hoped for, but his name will be up there next year for sure.

Eli looked like he found a 6th gear in the last few laps of 450 Moto 1 . Great racing in the big class all around for sure.

Who you think is going to grab the 450 MX title?
I'm thinking it is going to be sexton just because he loves riding Pala. Curious if they have a few setting of improvement for Eli's bike.
+100F weather. Ouch. Going to watch this from the couch.

I'm pulling for Chase, but will be happy with either. Gents put on a helleva season for us all.
