Hey y’all. Noticed my front Domello Off-road Bumper was shaking. Turns out what appears to be chassis mounts have been cracked. I recently pulled out another Tacoma with the recovery points on this bumper and I think that might have contributed. Can I just weld it back together, and if so what are your thoughts on recovery points on this bumper. You can see where it’s cracked and it appears to be on the chassis mount, but I could be wrong.

Yes you can welded it back in place, but i will recommended to cut off the plate and put a nice plate on, and reinforce it..

OP check out our reinforcement plates. We've seen this on more than one truck even with the reinforcement brackets that come with the bumper. The factory mounts are weak very weak with the thinness of the steel and the size of the studs/bolts holding them on. When you hard use winch a lot eventually they'll crack. We've even seen the factory welds fail looks like yours ripped around the weld.

Looks like the webpage is down. Is there a new link? I have two cracked brackets.

OP, how did you end up fixing this?

They closed shop. I'm not sure if there are other companies that make them

Very common problem - frame plates, bumpers mount plates and tubing to tie it in and melt it all together :

Darn. Used the wayback machine to view their website and found the installation instructions, but the pics don't show. Haven't found another vendor. Will keep trying…

@Evenflow Is that for oem bumper? That looks too thick for oem bumper. Is there a kit for that?

Not so easy peasy when you don't have the tools or materials, hence, why I am looking for a kit … I haven’t found any other vendors, surprised about that. BAMF comes the closest but their bracket is for their bumpers, not oem.

There is no kit to fix a broken frame lol, just patch what’s busted and strengthen the rest.

The frame is not broken, Toyota welded a thin, about 3/16th inch thick, plate to the end of the frame. That plate has three bolts that hold an alum adapter on to which is bolted the bumper. Most brush guards and light bars bolt onto those bolts, putting too much stress on that thin plate.

if it’s not broken then there’s nothing to fix? Perhaps I don’t understand the concern.

That 3/16th inch plate is cracking. See pic three in first post. Kinda hard to see the total picture, but the plates on both sides tend to crack. I’ll try and get a pic from my truck.

i don’t know anyone that cuts those plates. They are easy enough to make by hand it just an angle grinder in my link I posted. The whole project took only 1 day.
