Does anyone have a good method for aiming OEM halogen headlights and fog lights. Mine seem to be pointing waaay down right in front of the truck. I see an adjustment screw. Can it be unscrewed too far and come apart inside the headlight? Doesn't seem like that would be an easy fix.

@daveeasa knows the proper way, you need space, masking tapes and lots of patience. You can google it, you have to drive up to a wall and mark something and then back off and measuring again etc.

When I aimed mine, I didn't go that route. I let a friend park 30 feet in front of my truck facing my headlights in their small sedan, I just aimed as high as possible before the low beam shined on their face and called it good.

If you turn the screws while headlights are on, and stop when it gets too high or too low, i doubt you'll unscrew anything.

I watched a lot of videos and read a lot of articles researching how to properly aim my headlights. This link I found in one of the many threads here about the subject was the most helpful for me
    https://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/aim/aim.html
Tape measure, tape and patience. Hardest part for me was finding a flat spot with a smooth vertical surface that was dark in the middle of the summer in Alaska. I wound up in an underground parking garage
Edit: our headlights only have a vertical adjustment so a lot of the article doesn’t apply

My method is to set the beams that the hot spot moves up just slightly as you approach a wall on a level surface. Set one low beam, then adjust the cutoff / hot spot on the other to match.

Is there any horizontal adjustment? I don's see any.

The best method is to raise it a bunch and then go drive around at night. If you're able to see the color of the oncoming driver's pupils, you got them set perfectly.

How did you adjust the fog lights? I had to adjust my headlights to compensate for the lift but cannot find how to adjust the fog lights. I watched a video on YouTube and buddy shows an adjustment wheel that is not on mine, perhaps a pre-2020 thing?

The same method as I posted above, but fogs should be level. So, the cutoff / hotspot should not move up or down as you approach a wall.

My 2021 TRD Sport uses a (plastic) Philips head screw with the head at the bottom. You can access this by pulling the plastic in the wheel well apart at the front (just a few screws and trip clips. Mine have a wheel that moves when you turn the screw, and it 'clicks' as you adjust it.On mine, clockwise is up.

Edit: This would only apply to oem led. Forget what halogen adjustment looks like. I apologize:

There was a is a channel on the back of the headlight that drops vertically downwards towards that “wheel that moves”.
Insert a #2 Philips from the top using that y shaped channel as a guide, and the teeth of the screwdriver interface with the teeth on that gear (wheel) perfectly to aim the light

You can adjust the fog lights by opening the hood and reaching the adjustment dial from the top. Just reach your hand down in there and feel around. It is easy to do, no need for any tools.

I've seen it done in videos but I cannot find the adjustment wheel on mine. I will have a better look tonight!

My trick for these sort of situations is I cram my cell phone into the spot I can't see and take a bunch of photos with the flash on.

I Literally just aimed my headlights and foglights today and followed this guys instructions on measurements to use. Its dead easy. I'm going for a drive when it gets dark just to double check. Used a 4' x 12' roll of paper( bought at Michaels craft store) taped to a garage door to do it because the door was dark brown. As long as ground was flat and you measure 25' from front of truck back from the surface .

id they are OEM fog lights its a small wheel on bottom of foglight housing at back of housing near plug. My Fog Lights are aftermarket and i had to use a stubby #2 Phillips screwdriver to adjust mine.

Ah! I very much appreciate that photo. Hard to tell when you're looking down on it in a dark engine enclosed space.
