finally did this last night using the s2000 ap1 line. as noted by others, the adm made a huge difference and i should have done it sooner! i also have a leak at the banjo bolt, so i'll be ordering a new bolt and washers from pegasus to see if it fixes the problem.

awesome, thanks for the reply. keep us posted if the new banjo bolt fixes the issue! I'm planning on doing the same to my truck soon; just not entirely sure yet which is the best method. The flex line seems most convenient but your reported leak concerns me lol

Did this mod today. It’s a must do, eliminates the inconsistency and drivetrain lash that this truck had. Performed on a ‘22 Sport, 2500 miles. Been driving manual trans for almost 50 years, this Tacoma never felt quite right. I bought a new accumulator, had a friend with a Bridgeport mill connect the dots, and my son and I had at it. Install is straightforward, used a combination of 1/4” and 3/8” sockets and ratchets. Removed the exhaust bracket but not the driveshaft, not necessary. Pinch the rubber line up top first, then loosen the fluid lines. Just loosen lines. Remove accumulator and then finish removing lines. Install milled unit reverse order. Took maybe an hour including bleeding line.
    Honestly, thrilled with the improvement.
Will get in touch with @daveeasa to add my unmodified accumulator to his inventory. Every MT Taco needs this.

Just finished install and I'm super impressed. Must do mod. I used the hard line replacement method. Highly recommend.

i would also be interested if @PilotSmall is willing; that drill job looks clean. i think i'm electing for the dremel mod since it's "stealthy" if the truck ever needs to go in for warranty repairs...

    So. Many. Stickers.
The Dremel mod is fantastic but I'll tell you as a Toyota Tech... Nobody looks at that thing. We all hate it as much as you guys do. I took it out of my truck within a few weeks of buying it.

Even if we had to take pictures for a break warranty job, we'd slap one of our spares up there just for the picture. But if you do the Dremel mod that's one less thing to text will have to do if there happens to be a warranty issue. Which there shouldn't be... Lol

Just an FYI, there is free shipping on the site in the first post for accumulators. I'll be ordering one to do this mod.

What kind of mill does your friend have? That cut looks insanely clean.

A few posts back a couple guys asked if my mill equipped bud could cut out a few more, unfortunately not. The single job set up is too time consuming for small jobs. And his shop is super busy with regular work!
Agreed, The hand drill/dremel technique won’t look as good, but I’d guess the oil don’t care and the end result will be the same.
    Dump that accumulator!!

I still have my accumulator, from when installing the hard line kit. Which end would the "balls" be on?

    Center or end?

Edit: After looking at the pic in 1st post, I'm thinking in the center would be better.
