No pop off the ground and nothing visually unusual hmmm. Maybe the CV axle? Have someone to steer it and listen and use your hand to feel where the pop coming from. Just communicate and be aware how things operate first before you touch anything. You don't want to get your hand or fingers hurt.

I did the same thing couple of months ago. They are useful than the later models. It folds flat and you can put your fridge cooler or pelican cases for parts or what ever.

I had a 16 and a 12 with the new style folding seats. They are more comfortable for rear passengers but I love the fold flat in my 08. Def the most useful and convenient design. Had Clazzio seat covers in all 3 of my access cabs.

I had this problem on my 2013. Was the cam bolt. If they aren’t torqued right or are torqued while up in the air they can clunk. Mine clunked when in reverse and especially when turning over speed bumps or doing an initial turn out of a parking spot.

I second this. As I posted earlier in the week one of my cam bolts was not torqued to spec (almost a half turn loose). Drove the truck again today and no clunks anymore in forward or reverse.

I've also been chasing dow a single clunk, same symptoms you both have. No clunk off the ground, some bumps and always first turn out of my driveway. I'm gonna check the cam bolts Sunday. What did you torque them to?

I had a clunk lile that, low speed usually when turning and on uneven ground, couldn't replicate off the ground, ended up being my inner tie rods.

My cam bolts were torqued to 100 ft. lbs. while the truck was on an alignment rack. I have a new driver inner tie rod (replaced due to the jam nut being seized) and no play in either side in the steering. I was thinking shocks but they don't move like a front wheel drive car when turning the wheel. I also have new factory lower control arms and aftermarket upper control arms. Everything is torqued to spec.

I did inner and outer tie rods, upper control arms, hubs and bearings, ecgs bushing, and although I didn't replace my lowers, the ball joint seems to be in good working order. Nonetheless the clunk persists. I can say I might have trusted the alignment tech a little too much as no matter how many times I re-torqued the front end, don't think I messed with the cam bolts.

I'll be going to a mod day next month and I'll see what it might be with help from a few Tacoma enthusiasts.

Sounds like you covered the suspension assuming upper ball joints were checked/replaced. What about the steering shaft knuckle and the steering rack mount bushings. Do you have a lot of miles or do you wheel much. Do the inner tie rods move with little movement at the steering wheel or do the tie rods require more movement at the steering wheel to catch up. Does wiggling the steering wheel, with tires on the ground, cause any flex of the steering rack. Just more potential clunking points.

I’d check for a loose body mount bolt.

About 165,000 miles, off-roaded once but I heard the noise even before doing the lift. The new Total Chaos upper arms I have are about two years old, have recently been greased and there is no play in the heim joint/ball joint. I was leaning towards rack mount bushings. I have a new set of Energy Suspension bushings if they are bad.

I have not checked body mounts but I will now. Thank you.
