Constantly gearin up for trips, big fab projects always going on, multiple trucks and trailers. Way more hard core than me!

Messed with the driveshaft some today. Got the cv cut off, single u joint end tacd on. With the slip at the axle end, it still binds bad. Talking with driveline tech in hurricane and he was messing with a trail gear slip and realized they get 40 degrees of angle so flipped it and it was closer. With some grinding I ended up getting 49 degrees out of the yokes and u joints move freely. I’ll finish welding it tomorrow and see if it works.

I’m hoping it does or else I’ll have to limit the travel till I can afford a high pinion. A 14 in limit strap (16 in currently) will work but it translates to a lot of lost travel so that’ll be my last option.

Everyone so far I’ve talked to isn’t super interested in making custom shafts besides driveline tech in hurricane Utah. He’s been the most help and the only other thing he can think of is a huge cv from high angle but it’s to long.

2200 just the duals and mounts

500 for the inchworm prerunner adapter

    500 a340e

    2002 Tacoma a340f 4wd trans. 158k miles-$1000

Nope. Adams doesn’t want anything to do with custom stuff and has screwed up several shafts in the past for us. Dans driveline which is closer to me and we’ve been going to since we raced off road cars back in 2009 has screwed up a ton of stuff and they built the shaft I jus r broke wrong by making it to long and telling me the cv had enough angle after giving them the measurements and angles.

and dans charged me 800-900 to shorten the front shaft and lengthen the carrier bearing section and did a bunch of work I asked them not to do and went over the original deadline by almost a week and half.

At this point, I’ll just order and make everything myself. Besides the torque converter company, as they were the only ones who were a real help when the torque converter didn’t fit and did everything they could to help and called after about a week of me having it back to see if it fit, every other company was shit to deal with. Either lying about dates or parts or just flat out stopping returning my calls. If I didn’t make it this time around, I had issues.

Thats crazy. I can’t believe that is the case there. Vegas thinks it’s Hollywood now. Bet there a million places outside LA. Hate when you have stupid problems like that and you just have to do it on your own. Sucks

High Angle CV head too long, or wait too long?
Did take quite awhile but I coughed up for the 49* CV front.

Everyone moving from California to here… and no one wants to work since the scamdemic so I’ll just do it myself. Honestly easier and less stressful.
too long. But your picture makes it look short. Mind measuring from flange to the weld if you can? I don’t have much room is the issue because the shaft is so short.

Yeah, everything is fucked. Can’t wait to see what’s planned next to keep the sheep in check.

I’m a little stressing about my front shaft now. I took motor/trans/case out to cut firewall to get the case angle more flat. I was at 9.5 degrees tilt to the rear. Want to get to 6 at least. Hoping that helps.

If your a high pinion front you shouldn’t have near the issues I do. Simply going to a high pinion would fix my issues but the cheapest one is 4K… I found limiting the downtravel with a 14 in strap vs the 16 that’s on it now will work so it’ll have to wheel like crap to justify spending that kind of money

Yeah, the super duty is high. I didn't think about it making much diff but was just looking at a few picks of other axles to compare and it prob will help me out a bit I hope.

Thanks I’ll do some measuring to see if it’ll fit. My guess is it’s to long unfortunately

I called them up to order one, wouldn’t sell me just the cv and they said 1400 dollars for a shaft. I had to pass cause that still may not have worked

Ouch, no way for that price. The $$$ plus the wait absolutely not. Good luck trying to find something!
