Hi. Does anyone know if the only difference between these 2 radios is the inclusion of the Navigation. I ask because I have the base 8" screen without navigation and I want to upgrade the speakers. I guess what I am asking is if the output wattage to the speakers are the same or does the Premium have a stronger internal amp. Thanks.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but it does sound like if you want to upgrade, you are better off with the non-JBL as it isn't easy to upgrade... That's what I read on the net anyways, so it must be true right?:D

I have the non-jbl and upgraded the speakers and saw a pretty significant difference. I think there is only an amp for the subwoofer in the jbl package but I could be wrong. IMHO, I think the non-jbl system is easier to upgrade. Just installed a new head unit a few days ago and didn’t have to worry about how to work around factory amplifiers.

That is good news. Thanks for your quick replies. I already completed the Subaru tweeter install and now looking for a good woofer. Possibly getting a component system and not using the tweeters that come with it, Thanks again. I do like the new tweeters.

I don’t know if components would be worth the money if you are just planning on keeping the factory head unit. The head unit really limits to sound and frequencies being put out.

I went with some Skar 6x9 from Amazon and they have been great. Sound even better with my new head unit. And pretty budget friendly

I do not want to change the head unit or put an amp in yet due to the truck is still under warranty. I was looking to upgrade a little with plug and play items. The tweeters made a difference and i just had to adjust the sound slide bars on the radio. What head unit did you go with.

The stinger Heigh10, looks OEM and the sound being put out from it is great!

I just looked it up at Crutchfield and it appears to be a great item. I am going to let the warranty run its course before I do anything big. Thanks for your imput.
