Those are just the high speed DC chargers. Plug share shows 22 chargers in Augusta, about ten miles away.

I can’t find if Rivian offers an extended factory option but you can get aftermarket extended warranties. The factory warranty is pretty decent.

How does it “easily add two hours”? I assume that’s best case in your world.

I got one of those off-the-grid life dreams. I always though it'd be rad to set up a real robust hybrid energy system (wind/solar/hydro) with some normal batt/non-standard batt storage system then get a little EV fleet. A lot easier to mine sunshine than extract/refine crude oil. Yeah it'd take a while to charge, but the world ended, you got somewhere to be? When the aliens finally invade you got 6 months, a year tops, before gasoline goes bad anyway :alien::thumbsup:

10 miles from where? It’s over 30 miles and 45 minutes to Augusta from where I’m staying. You EV nuts sure like to tell everyone what to do.

Have you ever driven in or around Portland Maine on a Saturday in August?

I’m far from an EV nut and I definitely haven’t told you to do anything. I do admit that I misread the destination you gave and used Belgrade not Belgrade Lakes. That about doubles the distance to get to a better charger.

Clearly we all need to go back to horses and carriages.

I know right? Imagine having to go somewhere and fill up your carriage with energy! Haha! What if you run out at home? Hay and grass is everywhere! These automocars have no future.

Idk about that aftermarket extended warranties are usually not good and the companies that give them will do anything not to cover you if something goes wrong.

Texas grid has weakness, RE: rolling blackouts during the big freeze. The bigger issue is the failure is lack of a risk mitigation plan based on ERCOT policy to not have a backup process to connect to the eastern or western grids during emergencies. The plan is sufficient for 40, it fails at 0.

I asked how much the range would be reduced by traffic delays and how long it would take to recharge at a standard outlet. I’m wondering if I’m the trip would be possible in an EV truck without stopping. You and Waiting insist on telling me where and when to charge on route. Why do you guys try so hard to prove what EVs can do.
I’m staying on the south part of Long Pond. When we got near the place there were signs saying a bridge washed out and there was a 14 mile detour around the northern half of the lake. Something like that could really screw you in an EV if you were pushing the range.

I didn’t insist on shit. I answered your question on how an EV could get there and what it might take to get there given the distance and conditions you described. I even told that it would take days to get back to a full charge once you arrived. If you notice I even clearly stated that an EV probably wouldn’t work for that or for you.

The don’t go below 20 percent sucks and I’ve heard a bunch of people say that. That means the claimed 300 mile range is really only 240.

More like 180 because you arent supposed to charge above 80% so basically, you get 60% of the battery capaciyy
