Hello I am a new Tacoma owner as of three months.
Been searching for my specific Tacoma for two years and finally found it.
Currently based in Memphis Tennessee flew out to California San Francisco area and drove the coast all the way down to Mexico border.
( side note One of my stops was Bixby Creek Bridge, CA-1, Monterey, CA 93940 to take pictures. But I found a bit of a hidden trail beyond the side parking lot and of course I took it and the trail ended up in a no service redwood forest. I only traveled 3 miles due to not being properly prepared. It was very exciting. Has anybody ever taken the trail ? )
I will say it is a great introduction to the Tacoma and first time exploring the coastal roadways of the west.
I have been a full size pick up truck owner for sometime. I no longer had a need for a large pick up truck and wanted something more compact but capable. All my research brought me to the Tacoma..

So not to be further long-winded.
I am getting used to it and of course I have my list of modifications that apparently keeps growing..

One of the first I am going to do is get a color matched commercial topper made to suit my needs better.
Therefore the current rebel snug top has to go.

Yes excited to build out this vehicle to feed my want and need for exploration.

If anybody’s reading this thanks for your time much appreciate it and keep exploring.

    Signed

Welcome to the circus! Congrats on the new truck and the exploring opportunities.

PS, haven’t decided if I like those rims or not, they’re pretty different from the norm.

The road at Bixie bridge is called Old Coast Road. It’s 10 miles long and easily doable in a stock truck. Great view along the coast.

Yeah!!! Even before I purchased the truck I had a list.. The mods you can do— ahh! such a never ending fun rabbit hole.. but my intentions are to slowly approach it.. time will tell..

    Okay..
Yes a very doable great view road to take in for sure.
Now I reached an opening right after the Redwood forest area looking over large open fields. Thats when I turned around due to not knowing where I was.. where does ut drop you off at? Does it go back to the main coastal road?

I very much look forward in completing the road next prepared round..

If you’re going to replace your rims, I’d seriously consider 17” unless you need the sidewall. There’s a much greater selection of tires in that size.

it helps to have more side wall (a taller tire) off-road, the tire can flex absorbing more bumps, and can move to mate better with uneven terrain. He's right though, I like my 16s because there is more sidewall, but 17s defiantly seem to have way more options.

    Chew,

    Okay thanks for the clarification.
This truck will be driven mostly on city/highway roads and be a weekend explorer. So nothing to aggressive but would like a nice stance but also be capable, maybe a slight negative offset.
I am an options breakdown guy so I will list combos of each and weight to my needs and wants..

Many of options. I just have to fine a wheel I like and go from there..
Now the question is Steel Vs Aluminum.
